Hi! My name is Marisa and I am an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), residing in Massachusetts. I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2018. I have been practicing in the mental health/human services field in a variety of settings: outpatient, crisis stabilization unit, residential and have experience working with adults dealing with a wide range of mental health and substance abuse disorders. My focus is on creating a compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed therapeutic space to allow individuals to fully express themselves. I have experience supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, and psychosis symptoms. I am well-versed in the use of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skill interventions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will exchange introductions and I will focus on getting to know you and your story. We can discuss what you hope to get out of therapy. From there, we will go at your pace in discussing your biggest concerns and possible solutions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I do my best to create a welcoming, safe, and non-judgmental environment and allow clients the space to process their emotions and feel validated. I have experience working with individuals dealing with emotional dysregulation and assisting them with the use of grounding techniques, mindfulness, and classic talk therapy.
