I have 8 years of experience working with individuals, children, youth, and families. For the past 3 years, I've supported children and adolescents involved in the foster and judicial system. I'm passionate about helping clients navigate through life stressors, understand the connection between trauma and dysfunctional patterns, and achieve personal growth. I utilize an integrative approach which allows me to tailor interventions to your specific needs. I'll provide a safe non-judgemental space for you to show up as your authentic self and explore what tools you need to evolve into your best self.
During our first session, we will have brief introductions, review assessments, and then discuss your current struggles and what you'd like to accomplish during therapy.
Over time I've developed the ability to be open-minded and empathic to client struggles. I allow my clients to be in the driver’s seat during their sessions and I'm here to help guide them to their destination. Meeting my clients where they are has been successful while collaboratively exploring their needs to improve their quality of life.
I enjoy supporting clients in identifying and developing the necessary skills to accomplish their desired goals. I also love supporting young people in learning to navigate the stressful and wonderful parts of figuring out how to be an emerging adult.
I’ve utilized Cognitive Behavioral therapy to help client’s make the connections between thoughts, Behavioral and feelings. We will use CBT to help you learn to understand your triggers and use coping mechanisms to modify distorted thinking patterns and provide relief from your negative symptoms.
I've utilize Motivational interviewing collaboratively with client's, which is a goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. The goal is to strengthen your personal motivation for a commitment to a specific goal by exploring and eliciting your reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.
