I’m Jess, a licensed clinical social worker with nearly two decades of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults through stress, transition, and emotional challenges. My style is curious, authentic, and grounded in meaningful connection, with some humor woven in when it helps. I specialize in trauma, emotion regulation, anxiety, identity development, relationship stress, and co‑occurring mental health and substance use concerns. I help the people I work with make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface and build skills that strengthen how they move through the world. My approach is collaborative and practical, drawing from evidence‑based models like Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma‑Focused CBT, and the Encompass model, adapted to each person’s needs and goals. I work to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and safe enough to explore what’s really going on. I ask thoughtful, direct questions with curiosity and care. Self‑work isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about becoming who you want to be in a way that feels steady, grounded, and true to you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll slow down and get to know what’s been feeling heavy or overwhelming lately. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, how you’ve been coping, and what you hope might feel different. I check in about your comfort level, pacing, and preferences so the session feels manageable and supportive. I don't expect you to trust me right away; that builds over time. We may not get through every intake question and that’s completely okay. The goal is to understand you, not rush.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a warm, steady energy to my sessions. I am engaged and curious, and I show up in a way that helps people feel seen without feeling pushed. I ask direct questions when they are useful, and I hold space when things feel tender or complicated. I think of therapy as a process of finding your own north, the direction that feels true for you, and staying anchored through the ups and downs that come with growth. My background in trauma work, DBT, and co occurring treatment, along with my own life experiences, helps me connect with people in a grounded and human way. Trust builds slowly, and we honor that pace together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone experiencing significant stress, anxiety, or difficulty regulating emotions in the context of everyday demands. They may be navigating trauma, school or work pressure, social media exposure, peer or relationship conflict, parenting challenges, or major life transitions. Many are adolescents or young adults working through identity development, interpersonal effectiveness, or the impact of past experiences. Others are adults who have been functioning under chronic stress and want to improve stability and coping. I work well with clients who benefit from a structured, collaborative approach that includes direct questions, skills based interventions, and space to process at a pace that feels manageable. I recognize that therapy is not always something someone feels ready for immediately, so treatment is guided by readiness, safety, and the client’s capacity in the moment. My goal is to support clients in increasing insight, improving emotional regulation, and establishing a clearer sense of direction in their lives.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I teach concrete DBT skills to help you tolerate distress and regulate intense emotions without reacting impulsively. We focus on mindfulness, emotional baseline tracking, and structured communication strategies to help you navigate relationship conflict.

Trauma Informed Care

My practice is grounded in Trauma-Informed Care, prioritizing safety, collaboration, and trust. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which allows me to provide evidence-based, structured support to help you process traumatic events, manage nervous system triggers, and reduce emotional distress.
