I'm a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from the Point Loma Nazarene University and have been practicing for 6 years. I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD and trauma. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to work on their relationships with partners, family and themselves. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or personal development, I am here to work alongside you, offering evidence-based techniques and empathetic guidance to promote healing and enhance your well-being.
In our first session with me, you can expect a few key things to happen. We'll start by getting to know each other a bit. I will ask questions about your background, current situation, and the challenges you're facing. Overall, the first session is about establishing a foundation for our work together and ensuring that you feel heard, understood, and supported as we move forward. It's a collaborative process, and I'm here to assist you in achieving your goals.
I deeply value empathy and strive to understand my clients' experiences from their perspectives. My approach is flexible and tailored to meet the individual preferences and circumstances of those I work with. I recognize and respect the diversity of cultural backgrounds, identities, and experiences that clients bring. I focus on the client's strengths and resilience, helping them apply their resources to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Clients who are interested in exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to gain deeper self-awareness and personal growth. Individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, or overwhelm and seeking strategies to manage these emotions effectively. Also, individuals dealing with depression or mood disorders who are looking for support, coping strategies, and a safe space to process their feelings. Finally, client who have experienced trauma and are looking for trauma-informed therapy to heal and regain a sense of safety and well-being. My approach is collaborative and empathetic, focusing on creating a supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their journey toward healing and growth.
Utilizing CBT, I help individuals identify and learn coping skills to overcome maladaptive thought patterns, behaviors, and difficult emotional experiences.
Individuals struggling with emotional regulation and behaviors I use DBT. DBT aims to alleviate interpersonal distress and teach how to recognize, understand, label, and regulate emotions.
I embrace a holistic and humanistic approach to build a honest, open, and trusting therapeutic relationship. Humanistic approach helps those who are struggling with finding a purpose or reaching their potential and have a low self-esteem. I believe that we all are unique and have the ability to make changes in our lives.
