Sandi Davis
I've been working as a clinical social worker for over 20 years focusing my practice on person centered approaches tailoring treatment to best meet individual person served needs and preferences for optimal wellness. I specialize in trauma informed care including individualized evidence based practices to best meet treatment needs of those seeking my care as part of their own mental health treatment.
First session
During an initial session persons served can expect to be an active participant in introducing me to how they became who they are and what priorities are important in their day to day life. During this session we will also begin to formulate a plan for treatment incorporating priorities into measurable outcomes to improve overall wellness.
Strengths
Over the past 20 years in practice I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient therapy, crisis evaluation and intervention, and community clinical social work. This experience has led me to recognize the complex nature of mental health, the myriad of historical, internal, and external factors that can shape an individual throughout their life. Through this tenure I've had the opportunity to follow persons served for extended periods of time, witnessing how various moments in time are only a brief snapshot of the much larger picture of mental health life and recovery. I use this insight in my practice, understanding that every person served is the expert of their own experience, developing a positive therapeutic alliance through trauma informed person centered care that respects individual dignity and autonomy in life choices.
Ideal clients
Through my role as a clinical social worker, I've provided services to a broad variety of persons served with specialty around trauma, personality disorders, and mood disorders. Within my work, I approach each case with an understanding that the person served is the only "expert" in the room who understand their specific situation. When a person served enters my care they can expect full participation in collaborative assessment and treatment planning as well as ongoing review and adjustments to best meet identified needs.
