Hi, I’m Jennifer. Do you happen to suffer with anxiety, depression, grief, or hypervigilance as a result of events or traumatic experiences in your life? Do you have difficulty with positive self-talk, sleeping, or difficulty in relationships? Do you struggle to focus, relax, or feel like you are “good enough?” My goal is to empower clients to help them resolve traumas or other difficult experiences in their lives so that they can experience relaxation, increased self-worth, and move towards what they value. I also specialize in abuse experienced in childhood, workplace trauma, ADHD, grief, mood disorders, narcissistic abuse, sexual abuse, religious abuse, general anxiety, relationship issues, non-traditional relationships, and sexual issues. We will work towards decreasing distressing feelings and thoughts, improving coping and communication skills, and increasing mindfulness. My primary goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to discuss and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with an empathetic, yet goal-oriented therapist.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a compassionate, judgment free zone for them to discuss whatever may be causing them to come to therapy. I hope to have helped you identify how therapy can best help you and hopefully even leave you with some coping tips (if desired) prior to the end of our initial session. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable and confident in moving forward after your first session.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

All the methods I utilize are evidence-based techniques that have been well researched. I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help holistically decrease distress around upsetting or traumatic memories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify thought patterns that may be hindering you, Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) to help you identify and move towards your values and what is meaningful in your life, Dialetical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help you increase coping skills, and mindfulness based techniques to help promote relaxation and increased ability to enjoy the present. We will colloborate on your goals to help identify the most helpful methods for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my strength as a therapist is my ability to withhold judgment about anything my clients share with me. My goal is to be your advocate and to help you to the best of my abilities. I also believe that while I am warm and empathetic, I am also willing to challenge you in ways that may be of benefit to you. I have 10 years of helping a highly diverse set of clientele, and am passionate about empowering people to reach the life they deserve.
