About me

I’m Charlene Esquilin, LCSW, and the founder of Jireh Supportive & Therapeutic Services. I’m passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, and personal growth, while helping them recognize their strengths and embrace the belief that they are enough.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity to feel heard, comfortable, and understood. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, strengths, and goals for support. Together, we’ll begin identifying helpful strategies and creating a personalized path forward. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just come as you are.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring empathy, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental presence to every session. I create a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and respected while working collaboratively toward meaningful goals. My approach is strengths-based and personalized, incorporating CBT, DBT, and faith-informed support when desired. I help clients recognize their strengths, build practical coping skills, navigate life’s challenges, and feel empowered in their growth. What sets my approach apart is my ability to meet clients where they are while encouraging them to see their worth, resilience, and potential.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, work through life’s challenges, and create meaningful change. They may be navigating things like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress, or major life transitions and want support without feeling judged. I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection, growth, and learning practical tools to strengthen their emotional well-being and confidence.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns and explore how they may be influencing emotions, relationships, and daily experiences. I help clients challenge negative or limiting thoughts, develop healthier perspectives, and practice practical coping strategies. My approach is collaborative and individualized, allowing clients to build greater self-awareness, confidence, and skills they can use beyond the therapy session.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical skills for managing emotions, coping with stress, and navigating challenging situations more effectively. Together, we work on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I help clients recognize emotional patterns, respond rather than react, strengthen communication skills, and build healthier relationships. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, helping clients develop skills that support greater emotional balance, resilience, and confidence in everyday life.

Faith based therapy

I incorporate faith-based therapy when it aligns with a client’s values, beliefs, and goals. I provide a safe and respectful space for clients to explore how their faith can support their emotional healing, personal growth, and sense of purpose. When desired, we may incorporate prayer, Scripture, spiritual reflection, and faith-based coping strategies. My approach honors each client’s individual relationship with God while integrating clinical therapeutic practices to support their overall well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their own reasons for change and build confidence in their ability to move forward. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, affirmations, and collaborative conversations, I help clients identify their values, strengths, goals, and barriers to change. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I support them in discovering their own motivation and developing realistic steps toward meaningful change.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build upon the strengths, abilities, and resources they already possess. Rather than focusing only on challenges or difficulties, I help clients identify their resilience, accomplishments, values, and existing coping skills. Together, we use these strengths to navigate challenges, build confidence, develop meaningful goals, and create positive change. My goal is to help clients recognize that they are capable, resilient, and have the ability to grow.
