Hello and welcome— I’m Helen, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what’s next, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. I’m not here to fix you or push an agenda—I’m here to walk alongside you as we make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences together. Many of my clients wrestle with perfectionism, anxiety, or a quiet sense that something’s off, even if they can’t quite name it. Through gentle conversation and thoughtful questions, I help you uncover patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and reconnect with your strengths. We’ll explore what’s working, what’s not, and how you can begin to shift toward a version of life that feels more honest, meaningful, and sustainable. Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating. It can feel like exhaling. Like clarity. Like finally hearing your own voice again. I look forward to meeting you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to understand what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about what’s been going on in your life lately, and we’ll talk about what you hope to get out of our work together. Some clients come in knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others just have a general feeling that something’s off. Either is perfectly okay. Together, we might identify goals like: • Managing anxiety or low mood • Gaining clarity around a decision or life direction • Letting go of perfectionism or self-criticism • Building confidence and self-trust • Improving relationships or communication You don’t have to have it all figured out before we begin—our first session is a safe, judgment-free space to start exploring what’s important to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is helping clients untangle the thoughts that keep them stuck. Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, depression, or perfectionism—often driven by harsh self-talk or unhelpful beliefs they’ve carried for years. Through thoughtful questions and compassionate reflection, I help you examine those patterns and ask: Is this thought true? Is it helpful? Over time, clients learn to challenge old narratives, treat themselves with more kindness, and build a new way of thinking that feels supportive and sustainable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with clients who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what they want—whether they’re facing a major life decision or just a quiet sense that something isn’t right. You may struggle with anxiety, depression, or perfectionism that makes it hard to trust yourself or move forward. I help clients explore their thoughts and emotions with curiosity and compassion, so they can gain clarity, recognize their strengths, and make choices that feel more aligned with who they are. You don’t have to have a big crisis to benefit from therapy—sometimes it’s about making space to hear yourself again.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The main premise of CBT is that our thought patterns have an enormous impact on our feelings and behaviors. When we view situations, mistakes, or setbacks in a distorted way, which we all tend to do at times, it fuels our anxiety and depression symptoms. We will work collaboratively to pinpoint problematic thought patterns such as black-and-white thinking and filtering out positive experiences. Once we identify the unhelpful self-talk habits, we can start restructuring your thinking by using logic and weighing evidence regarding thought patterns. I'll provide support through homework assignments and exercises to help you practice and change your responses in a more balanced way. The goal of CBT is to equip you with skills and perspective shifts that improve your mental health in the long term. You'll not only feel better during our sessions but develop new thought habits that benefit you for years to come.
