In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will discuss your background to provide a foundation for us to collaboratively determine the way forward. I look forward to working together with you on a comprehensive plan to help you reach your therapeutic goals. The initial session will allow us to build a connection and will give me the opportunity to gain some insight into your lived experience.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths include my capacity for compassion and my strong desire to connect with my clients of all ages, especially those who are representative of marginalized groups. Additionally, I lived and served communities in southern and West Africa for 15 of my 25+ years in mental health. My experiences across Ohio and abroad inform and strengthen my practice in diverse ways.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy assisting clients in looking at thought patterns in order to make positive changes. This can lead to developing better ways to cope with emotions and problem solve. This includes delving into thinking patterns and how they impact behavior. With this treatment method, we work on exercises and activities aimed at symptom reduction.

Supportive

It is natural for me to create an environment of unconditional acceptance of each individual as a person with whom I provide therapy. Through supportive therapy, I work with clients to strengthen coping skills aimed at addressing ongoing issues and symptoms.
