Do you feel like you are going through life missing a part of yourself? Despite having gone through all the motions of growing up, you have somehow missed the part of finding fulfillment and meaning? I'm here to help you work through all of the things that get in your way of finding your identity and true connection. Whether it is hidden by anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, disordered eating, or relationship difficulties- we can work through it together in order find a sense of empowerment and peace within yourself, your relationships, and your life. I specialize in the treatment of developmental trauma, chronic trauma, and PTSD, as well as co-occurring disorders, including anxiety, depression, other mood disorders and high functioning autism spectrum disorder. I have experience working with clients in multiple levels of care including residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment as well as outpatient private practice. My areas of specialty and expertise are in working with Children, Adolescents and Young Adults. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, severe trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, family conflict and High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have provided support for clients in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, community-based services, intensive in-home services, school-based services as well as private practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our work together is designed to bring about whatever changes you are hoping for in your life. My approach is relationship driven and person-centered, which means I don’t try to fit you into the way I “do” therapy; rather, I meet each person, couple, or family with an open-mind, deeply listening to the lived experience that is shared so together we can engage in the healing process in a way that is respectful to you and your family’s values, perceptions, and beliefs.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

With over 20 years of experience, I am eclectic in my practice, and borrow techniques and strategies from multiple modalities. My experience as an Art Therapist combined with Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, has helped elicit insight and create exponential change. I utilize a compassionate, non-judgmental, strengths-based, approach to increase the emotional and behavioral functioning of my clients, while empowering them to reach their fullest potential.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Much of my research and training has focused on resilience, specifically, overcoming adversity and dealing with challenging life events. Examples include: navigating relationship and family issues, recovering from the end of a relationship or marriage, loss, relocation, or other adverse circumstance, and addressing issues which affect one's self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-image. I also treat anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. I have tremendous faith in the human ability to be resilient, and I can help you cultivate this ability--this is the core of my work. My take on the glass half full/empty thing is that the glass is refillable.
