New to Grow
I believe that healing begins when you feel truly heard, accepted, and understood. I work with adults experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and other challenges that can leave you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical, grounded in person-centered therapy and informed by evidence-based approaches such as strengths-based work, CBT, and somatic-informed interventions. Together, we'll explore what may be keeping you stuck while building on the strengths, values, and experiences that make you who you are. I believe therapy is a place where you can be your authentic self without judgment, where your story matters, and where meaningful change is possible. For those who find it helpful, we can also explore questions of meaning, spirituality, and personal values as part of your healing journey. My goal is to walk alongside you as you develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and a life that feels more meaningful, balanced, and authentic.
Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, and it's completely normal if you're feeling nervous or unsure about where to start. During our first session, my priority is getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about your current concerns, experiences that have shaped you, what you've already tried, and what you hope will be different as a result of counseling. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you are always welcome to ask questions along the way. We'll discuss your goals and begin exploring what may be most helpful moving forward. My approach is collaborative, so we'll work together to understand your needs, recognize your strengths, and develop a path that feels right for you. Most importantly, my hope is that you leave your first session feeling heard, respected, and with a greater sense of hope and direction.
I believe every client deserves to feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. One of the strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to create a space where you can be honest about your experiences without fear of judgment while also feeling supported in making meaningful changes. My approach is collaborative and adaptable because no two people heal in exactly the same way. Sometimes therapy means having a safe place to process difficult emotions and feel understood. Other times, it means gently exploring new perspectives, challenging patterns that are no longer helpful, or discovering new ways to move forward. Together, we'll find the approach that best fits your needs. I bring curiosity, openness, and a genuine appreciation for the strength people show when facing life's challenges. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I seek to understand the experiences, values, and strengths that have shaped who you are. My own life experiences, along with my professional training, have deepened my appreciation for the complexity of the human experience. I know that each person's journey is unique, and I strive to meet every client with compassion, curiosity, and respect. My goal is for therapy to feel like a partnership where you feel respected, supported, and empowered to better understand yourself and create meaningful change in your life.
My ideal client is someone who is open to self-exploration and recognizes that therapy is a collaborative process. They understand that I cannot solve problems for them, but they are willing to work alongside me to explore their experiences, discover new perspectives, and find answers that fit their unique lives. I especially enjoy working with individuals navigating grief, loss, major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the challenges that come with feeling different or misunderstood. I have a particular passion for supporting people who may not fit traditional expectations, including neurodivergent individuals and those exploring identities, relationships, or lifestyles that are often met with misunderstanding or judgment. The clients who tend to thrive in my practice are those who appreciate a warm, accepting environment while also being open to gentle challenges and reflection. They may come to therapy with questions, uncertainty, or a desire for change, and they are willing to explore what they truly want rather than being told what they “should” want. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe being fully themselves while gaining insight, building confidence, and moving toward a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood. I strive to create a place where you can talk openly without fear of judgment, knowing that you will be met with compassion, respect, and curiosity rather than criticism. My goal is to understand your experience from your perspective, not to make assumptions or tell you how you should feel. Rather than trying to solve your problems for you, I work alongside you to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and discover solutions that fit your life and your values. Together, we'll build a trusting relationship where you can explore difficult emotions, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. I also believe that being authentic and genuine is an important part of building a trusting therapeutic relationship
When people are struggling, it's easy to lose sight of the strengths that have helped them through difficult times. A strengths-based approach focuses on identifying the resilience, abilities, values, and personal qualities you already possess and using them as a foundation for growth. Together, we'll explore what has helped you overcome challenges in the past, recognize the strengths you may not realize you have, and build on those qualities as you work toward your goals. While we'll honestly address the difficulties you're facing, we'll also celebrate your progress and the unique strengths that make lasting change possible.
Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are closely connected. Sometimes the ways we think about ourselves, others, or the world can unintentionally keep us feeling anxious, depressed, or stuck. In CBT, we'll work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns, examine whether they're accurate or helpful, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. Rather than simply "thinking positively," CBT helps you become more aware of your patterns, challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, and practice practical skills that support lasting change. My approach is collaborative, and we'll move at a pace that feels manageable while focusing on the goals that matter most to you.
Our emotions don't just affect our thoughts—they also show up in our bodies. Stress, anxiety, grief, and other difficult emotions can create physical sensations such as tension, tightness, restlessness, or a racing heart. My approach is somatic-informed, meaning I incorporate body awareness into therapy to help you better understand the connection between your mind and body rather than using specialized somatic therapies as the primary focus of treatment. Together, we may use grounding exercises, breathing techniques, and body awareness to help you regulate your nervous system, manage overwhelming emotions, and increase your sense of calm and control.
