I’m Kristin, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with over 10 years of experience. My therapeutic philosophy centers on creating a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore new perspectives and break free from generational cycles. I believe in fostering self-awareness, building self-esteem, and nurturing confidence so clients can live more authentic and fulfilling lives. I especially enjoy working with clients who are ready to challenge old patterns and embrace lasting change.
In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you, your story, your concerns, and what brought you to therapy. We will talk about your goals, what you are hoping to gain from counseling, and any questions or expectations you may have. I will also share how I approach therapy and what our work together might look like. This initial session is a safe, judgment-free space for you to begin feeling heard, understood, and supported as we start building a strong therapeutic relationship.
I bring a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy, tailoring evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, EFT, and trauma-informed care to fit each client’s unique needs. My strength lies in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build practical skills for lasting change. I’m dedicated to helping clients develop resilience, deepen self-awareness, and strengthen their relationships through a balanced blend of insight and action.
I am best positioned to support individuals who are seeking meaningful growth, emotional healing, and stronger relationships. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, past trauma, relational distress, or life transitions. They may feel overwhelmed by their emotions, stuck in negative thought patterns, or disconnected in their relationships—and they are ready to do the work to find hope, clarity, and change. Whether you're seeking tools to manage day-to-day challenges or deep healing from past wounds, I offer a compassionate, structured, and empowering space to explore your story and move toward lasting well-being.
When a client gives permission and invites me to engage in Christian counseling, I integrate Christian counseling by incorporating biblical principles and faith-based guidance into the therapeutic process. This approach helps clients explore spiritual resources, prayer, and scripture to address emotional, relational, and psychological challenges, promoting healing and personal growth within a Christ-centered framework.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Through collaborative goal-setting and structured techniques, I support clients in developing healthier thinking, emotional regulation, and coping strategies that promote lasting change and improved well-being.
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients build skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is especially helpful for clients struggling with intense emotions, self-harm, or relational difficulties. I integrate these skills in a supportive, structured environment to promote balance, self-awareness, and long-term emotional stability.
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help individuals, couples, and families explore and understand their emotional experiences and attachment needs. By identifying negative interaction patterns and fostering secure emotional bonds, I guide clients toward deeper connection, improved communication, and healing in their relationships.
I approach counseling through a trauma-informed lens by recognizing the widespread impact of trauma and creating a safe, supportive environment that fosters trust and empowerment. I prioritize client choice, collaboration, and sensitivity to triggers while integrating therapeutic practices that promote healing, resilience, and a sense of control.
