LCSW, 10 years of experience
Welcome! My name is Rebecca Platt and I am an LCSW licensed in the state of Tennessee since 2015. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work from East Tennessee University and have been working with older adolescents and young adults for over 20 years. I started my journey in Juvenile Corrections which inspired me to get my degree and pursue my goal of becoming a therapist. My desire is to guide adolescents and young adults in managing their emotional world and ease the transition into the adult mindset for success in their individual life journey.
In our first session, we will focus on the strengths perspective. This means we will first establish some strengths through engagement and alignment. We will engage in conversation to increase therapeutic bond and align our sessions with your goals and needs. We will create a plan for the journey you would like me to guide you through.
As a provider working with young adults, I have learned that non-judgmental, compassionate, guidance through a client centered approach helps client and therapist create a treatment guide that focuses on clear, concise, measurable, goals that celebrate client success and progress throughout their journey.
My experience began in juvenile justice and over the years I have continued my work with children, adolescents, and young adults for 20 years.
In my experience, therapy must be client centered and clients do not fit comfortably into one model. Therapy is an individual journey and utilizing multiple theories to fit client need has served me best in my clinical practice.
