LCPC, 11 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor and a fully trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. I received my Master of Arts/Science degree from Roosevelt University. I specialize in Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, addictions, fears, guilt and a range of life adjustment issues. I work with individuals to help make sense of the past to understand and neutralize the negative influence it has on present functioning and relationships. By clearing up the "debris" from the past, we can fully focus on being our best in the present and future.
First session we will just talk and identify what brought the client to counseling and how I can help them overcome the struggles that they are facing.
I feel I work best with adults over the age of 25 and can use my experience and training to directly get to the traumatic roots and help the client change the meaning they apply to these events and therefore themselves.
Adults over 18 who have experiences trauma that continues to cause disturbance in their lives.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy method that helps people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy uses eye movements or other forms of stimulation to activate the brain's natural healing process and reduce the emotional impact of negative memories. EMDR therapy is proven to be effective for treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
