New to Grow
Hi, I'm Chelsea — a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for working with athletes and the people who pour everything into their sport. I specialize in helping athletes navigate burnout and overtraining, identity shifts and life transitions, performance anxiety, and the complicated feeling of not knowing who you are outside of competition. My approach is holistic, meaning I don't just look at what's happening in your sport, I look at the whole person: your relationships, your sense of self, your patterns, and your goals. I want to be clear: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, not a sports psychologist. I don't offer performance consulting or mental skills coaching. What I do offer is warm, genuine, judgment-free counseling that takes your athletic life seriously as part of who you are — not separate from it
In our work together, I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities to help you build self-awareness, develop healthier thought patterns, and reconnect with what actually matters to you. Sessions are collaborative and conversational — there's no pressure to perform here.
As an athlete who has faced burnout myself, I understand how nuances of a role our mental health plays in physical performance. I can empathize with the feeling of “I’m doing everything right, why am I not doing as well as I should be?”
My ideal clients are young athletes and dedicated recreational competitors who are quietly struggling beneath the surface. Maybe you're a high schooler who has built your entire identity around your sport and you're starting to feel the weight of that. Maybe you're a weekend warrior who used fitness as your anchor... until burnout, an injury, or life's demands made that anchor feel like a chain. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to have it figured out to reach out.

Sometimes, therapy needs to be a place of solutions rather than deep processing. I lean on solution focused brief therapy techniques when it makes the most sense based on your therapeutic goals.
