As a therapist, I believe every person is unique, and that their treatment should be tailored to fit their specific needs and circumstances. I am highly passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community, assisting people through transitions (such as college, divorce, or change in careers), helping people understand patterns in their lives and families, and assisting people in gaining more skills to manage their own emotions. My goal as a therapist is to help people to find their strengths, help them grow, and positively change patterns in their daily life. As a LGBTQIA+ therapist, I enjoy helping people explore and understand their sexuality and/or gender. I have experience supporting people through transitioning which includes navigating the health care system, telling family and friends and other stressors. I also have experience working in a college setting for four years. College can be a stressful time when we are learning more about ourselves and how to navigate the world. Are you worried about the new workload, making new friends or dealing with sadness of leaving family and friends? In therapy, together we will utilize your strengths to gain confidence in navigating this new transition. I graduated from Binghamton University with my Masters of Social Work in 2017. After graduation, I worked as a family therapist for two years and then transitioned into the college setting. I now work part time in a Medical school and part time in private practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will be asking you background questions to get a better understanding of you and your situation. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and allow you space to answer questions and become comfortable with me.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Strength-Based, Solution Focused and others. I believe in empowering my clients through exploring their internal narrative/automatic negative thinking patterns and learn new ways to approach each situation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is showing up to each session with compassion, empathy and readiness to listen.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with young adults who are navigating life's transitions. I am also passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community.
