I am an LPCC in the state of Kentucky with 10 years experience in varying areas of therapy working with different ages, settings, and practices. It is with adults that struggle with traumas, mood disorders, and anger that inspires me to continue to do this work so that they can be the best version of themselves and also overcome the challenge of breaking unhealthy cycles.
Clients will have an open, safe, and welcoming atmosphere where they immediately will pick up on the sincerity of care and that they are able to just be themselves and feel welcomed.
I grew up in a dysfunctional family with abuse, mental health problems, and substance. I feel that I am more relatable to others who have experienced trauma, abuse, and other dysfunctional generational problems. Breaking this cycle is the biggest challenge I have faced and given me strengths to be able to assist others.
I feel like adults who have experienced abuse, dysfunction, or mood disorders will feel more comfortable talking to someone that has experienced similar things and has made the same mistakes and life changing decisions before being able to get help and make changes to improve themselves and break generational cycles.
I prefer this type of psychotherapy because it can quickly help you identify and cope with specific challenges. It generally requires fewer sessions than other types of therapy and is done in a structured way. CBT is a useful tool to address emotional challenges and assist in giving people the tools to challenge and replace negative/irrational thinking with more positive and realistic thinking and behaviors. CBT also allows for other forms of therapy to be combined for maximum effectiveness.
