Congratulations on taking the first step to improving your life! Reaching out for help is often overwhelming and a remarkable step to take. I love working with individuals thirteen or older that are seeking a more peaceful life! I enjoy incorporating acceptance into my work to help clients see all emotions as valuable and manageable. A few of my favorite populations to work with are teenagers, those recovering from abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and those struggling with life changes. I would love to work with you to help you develop personal goals and walk alongside you as you work to accomplish them. You know yourself best and I hope to help you feel confident to handle life's challenges.
Our first session consists of getting to know your backstory and your goals in therapy. After the first session, I follow your pace of comfort on what you want to discuss and what you want to focus on! My goal is to always be walking with you as your goal is the priority!
I enjoy utilizing acceptance and commitment therapy to help individuals become more resilient in difficult emotions. Cognitive behavioral therapy is another type of therapy I enjoy implementing as it can be useful with many different issues. CBT helps challenge unhelpful thinking, identifying the root of the thought, and choosing to rework the original thought.
I enjoy working with, and have years of experience, working with individuals who are recovering from domestic violence. I have a big passion for this population and consider my experience, both in shelters and in court systems, to be a strength! I have four years of experience working with teens and love being able to make teenagers feel safe in the difficulties of growing up. Being a teen is tough, especially in the everchanging world of today! I worked in addiction treatment for a year and applaud those in recovery. I enjoy working with these individuals who are dedicated to being sober and desire a therapist with knowledge of addiction, as well as a non-judgmental approach.
