New to Grow
My name is Julien, and I am passionate about helping those struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem insecurities, and a history of trauma. You might have been noticing that something hasn't been feeling right for you. You want more than just getting by, and to understand why you feel the way you do. Growing up as an Asian American often felt like I had to figure things out on my own and not ask for help. If you have felt similar, then reaching out for therapy might feel like going against everything you were raised to believe, and that's okay. Let me help carry some of that weight.
During our first session, my focus is to create a nonjudgmental and safe space for you to explore the reasons that led you to seek therapy. I will also gain an understanding of how your challenges are affecting various aspects of your life, such as your work or school, relationships, and personal interests. We'll set up goals for therapy and explore challenges that got in your way.
I enjoy creating a supportive environment while guiding you to delve deeper into what you're discussing during our appointment. From there, we'll explore ways to move forward, even if it's just making it through this week.
We would be a great match if you are interested in exploring your thoughts and understanding how your past experiences have shaped them. I enjoy delving into the inner workings of the mind and examining how these thoughts manifest in our daily lives. Addressing anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship issues are my strengths. I am best suited for individual therapy with cisgender males and females.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Have you ever wondered why you feel the way you do? With CBT, we'll look at the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will identify the origins of these thoughts and work on changing your thinking patterns to help you break free from negative cycles.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
CPT is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD and trauma. After experiencing a frightening or horrific event, you may encounter symptoms such as nightmares, heightened alertness, and feelings of guilt. If you want to heal from the trauma without delving into all the details, CPT could be a suitable option for you. We will work together to process the effects of the trauma and address the thoughts that are keeping you stuck.
