About me

Hi, I bring nearly 20 years of nursing experience to my role as a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I began my career in long-term care, where I spent a decade honing my skills in patient care and advocacy. Recognizing my passion for helping others, I continued my education at Albany State University, earning my Master's of Nursing in 2017. I have spent seven years in a primary care setting, where I developed a keen interest in the significant unmet mental health needs in the community. Motivated to make a difference, I pursued a post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Florida State University. I take the time to listen to each patient, aiming to provide a holistic approach to health and wellness. I believe in collaborating closely with patients to formulate individualized treatment plans that best meet their unique needs.

Very helpful and supportive. Understands medicine and how to treat certain disabilities. Available very often. Very concerned about your health. Contacts you to ask questions and support you. Very calm and patient. Very comfortable having a in person appointment. Thank you so much! Completely 100% recommend anyone to see her for any concerns or health needs.

I've been several doctors trying to find one that was genuine. And with her I found that. I did not feel judged and I felt heard. And for someone with mental issues that means more than you could ever imagine. This was my first visit. Definitely won't be my last. It wasn't a long visit. But I walked out of her office feeling a thousand times better already. Just the fact that she cared made the world a little brighter. If you're struggling I would definitely give her a chance you won't regret it

My existing psychiatrist was no longer going to accept my insurance. I was looking for a female psychiatric therapist whom I could access online, and who was in network. I felt very comfortable talking openly with Kayla. I am so glad I found her.
