My name is Doreen and I welcome the opportunity to work with you and support you in attaining your goals. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois. My professional background includes a Master's degree in counseling psychology and business administration. I also have over 10 years of experience in social services and mental health. My clinical focus is working with adults who have mood disorders, anxiety, or serious mental illnesses. I am very passionate about mental healthcare and entered into this profession because I value supporting others in their efforts to be the best and healthiest version of themselves. My approach to treatment is by working collaboratively with clients to help identify their strengths, to foster self-empowerment, and healthy well-being. This may include exploring the whole person within the context of one's social and cultural environments. I also work to foster a safe environment and therapeutic relationship where clients feel free from judgments, valued, and respected. Making the decision to seek therapy can be a big step toward your addressing your psychological well-being, the healing process, personal growth, or other goals. I am here to meet you where you are and provide support as you move through your journey of self-exploration. I am excited about the opportunity to meet and work with you. To schedule an appointment with me you can contact my intake team via email at reception+Doreen10319@growtherapy.com or by phone at 786-755-1862.
Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling that their voice has been heard. I work to ensure that all clients walk away feeling validated and respected. It is always my goal to develop an understanding of who my client is and what it is relevant to them.
My treatment method is integrative with a focus on cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused therapies. The treatment method I utilize will vary according to the needs or goals of the individual client. This may include utilizing specific interventions within therapy sessions or homework assignments given to clients.
My biggest strengths include my listening skills and ability to offer meaningful reflections. Another strength is my willingness to receive feedback from clients and incorporate that into our work together because I see the therapeutic relationship as being collaborative. I also consider myself to be very compassionate and open-minded.
