I am a nurse practitioner who is certified in both psychiatry and primary care. I earned my Doctorate at the University of North Florida and have been practicing as a nurse practitioner for 10+ years. I primarily work with women, collegiates and professionals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD and burnout. I help them to have more energy, improve work performance, boost self-image, and feel happier and more content. While I work with patients of all backgrounds, I am also equipped to offer culturally-competent care to people of color and those of the Christian faith. I partner with my patients and integrate medication management with lab testing, supplementations and lifestyle modifications to provide a holistic treatment plan. With training as both a psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioner, I am also able to help patients with issues at the intersection of mental and physical health, including gut health and gastrointestinal conditions, with a focus on food and nutrition as a tool of healing. Please bear in mind, because I am a solo practitioner with no staff and to make my self more available to my clients, I do not write or complete any letters or forms for clients and I do not participate in discussions or provide testimony for the offices of disability, social security or insurance companies, employers and lawyers. I spend the time that I have in my practice, seeing patients one-on-one, ordering tests and completing chart notes. However, I can provide you with a copy of your session notes upon request.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first appointment will last about 60 minutes. This time allows you to fully share your story and provide crucial details about how your symptoms impact your life. I'll ask questions to uncover the root issues, understand you better, and screen for specific conditions. Together, we'll establish goals and identify areas for intervention. By the end of the visit, you'll have a tailored action plan that may include medication, lab work orders, symptom tracking, lifestyle adjustments, additional screenings, and initial supplement recommendations.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a first-generation American, Christian, wife, mother of two and pet owner, my own mental health experiences have shaped my approach to mental health. Balancing work, family, and education, I understand all too well the daily pressures one can experience. Treating my own depression and social anxiety using traditional and holistic methods, has not only given me insight into caring for those with mental illness but also more long lasting results. I believe in integrating the current standard of treatments with complementary approaches to promote high quality and individualized care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The clients I'm best positioned to serve are those who feel overwhelmed, irritable, and/or moody. Those who are you struggling to balance their professional and personal life, and feeling pulled in every direction. Clients who are experiencing challenges in their relationships with their spouse and children and feel constantly tired, lack focus and are losing interest in activities they once enjoyed. Those who have tried therapy alone but still have not found relief. Many people lose themselves when they get into relationships, have children or start a career. My goal is to help you reclaim your independence and spirit, and to help you find who you are outside of your family unit and your work.
