Welcome! I am so glad you are beginning to explore what therapy can do for you. Reaching out and sharing your story may cause you to feel vulnerable and afraid. You may be worried about what to expect and what therapy looks like for you, but know you've come to the right place for support. Challenging relationships, anxiety, depression, or trauma can cause distress in your life. Do you feel like you don't know where to begin? Do you think you are all alone? Don't worry, we'll tackle these issues side by side. In our sessions, we'll work together to understand your unique experiences and emotions, all while creating a safe and non-judgmental environment. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to facilitate self-discovery and personal growth. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. We'll work towards creating a more fulfilling and meaningful life. So, let's take that first step together and embark on a path of healing and growth. I'm excited to meet you and be part of your transformation.
In our first session, we will spend time exploring expectations and any concerns you may have with therapy. Next, we will begin to tackle specific challenges you are experiencing.
My strengths as a therapist lie in my supportive demeanor and awareness that having a strong alliance between us is the foundation for successful outcomes. I believe in the power of validation and providing you with the support you need to navigate through difficult emotions. Additional strengths that I know will empower you on your journey to healing and recovery are empathy and understanding, recognizing your mental, emotional, and physical health are interconnected, cultural sensitivity, the ability to build on your existing strengths to overcome challenges, transparency, and being growth-focused.
I enjoy working with clients that struggle with high-functioning anxiety or past trauma. They may appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck in overthinking, or emotionally disconnected. Many have experienced childhood emotional neglect or a stressful work/life balance that has left them feeling unworthy or exhausted. They want to feel more at peace, develop self-compassion, and break free from patterns of self-doubt or avoidance. I use a mix of somatic therapy, CBT, and trauma-informed approaches to help them reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and move forward with confidence.
I have extensive experience utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy. I typically use this treatment modality when addressing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
I am EMDR trained and working towards EMDR certification which I expect to have completed in July. Practicing EMDR has been a game changer in assisting individuals process trauma.
