Hi there! I’m Lucy Koerner, and I’m so glad you’ve taken a moment to explore what I offer at Humble Angel Counseling. It takes tremendous courage to reach out for support, and I want you to know that this step marks the beginning of a meaningful journey toward healing. Life can feel overwhelming, and you might find yourself navigating the discomfort of social situations, where the weight of expectation feels heavier than the joy of connection. Perhaps you've experienced the familiar letdown of hoping that your next cup of coffee will finally ignite the energy you've been searching for. These feelings are valid, and you’re not alone in this. In our time together, we’ll focus on the heart of your experiences—the emotions and patterns that may have become obstacles to your joy and peace.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Envision a place where you can openly express your thoughts and emotions, a sanctuary where the demands of daily life can be softly put on hold. In our initial session, we will create a warm and inviting atmosphere to discuss the specific challenges you are encountering. You'll walk away with new insights and a tailored plan designed to guide us in deeper exploration during our upcoming sessions. I believe in the incredible capacity for healing that lies within you, and I’m here to help you rediscover it. Together, we will work to untangle the threads of anxiety, self-doubt, and unresolved trauma, allowing you to move toward a life filled with possibility and hope. We will build a space where your voice is heard, and your experiences are validated. This is a journey of understanding and growth, where every step is taken at your pace and with your comfort in mind. Our work will focus on empowering you to confront challenges with confidence, enabling you to find balance and peace amidst the chaos. As we progress, you'll discover strategies and tools that enhance your resilience, helping you navigate life's hurdles more effectively. Whether through traditional or innovative therapeutic methods, our sessions will be a partnership aimed at fostering your overall well-being. You deserve to thrive, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Let's embark on this journey towards healing and fulfillment, knowing that brighter days are ahead. Your story is important, and together, we will illuminate the path to a future filled with hope and possibility.

My treatment methods

EMDR

With over 14 years of experience as a trauma therapist, I utilize EMDR to help clients process traumatic experiences and alleviate their emotional responses. This transformative approach empowers individuals to move beyond trauma and embrace a more fulfilling, happy life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This approach prioritizes your needs, allowing us to meet you where you are mentally and emotionally. Through validation and reflective listening, we create a supportive environment that encourages self-reflection and personal growth.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Developed by psychologist Richard C. Schwartz, IFS views the mind as a system of distinct subpersonalities or "parts," each with its own perspective. This model is effective in treating a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. The goals of IFS therapy include: - Releasing parts from limiting roles - Harmonizing conflicting parts - Restoring trust in the self - Empowering the self to lead all aspects of life IFS sessions resemble traditional therapy but with a deeper focus on exploring your internal landscape.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps you identify and understand the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, providing practical strategies for managing triggers and enhancing your emotional well-being.

Group Therapy

In a group setting, clients learn and practice recovery strategies while building interpersonal skills and social support networks. This modality is effective for addressing emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more.
