LICSW (she/her)9 years of experience

It can be hard to admit that we need some support at times in our lives. Maybe your anxiety or ADHD is hindering you and you're looking to learn new ways to manage it. Maybe you're sick of binge eating, chronic dieting or hating your body, or you've been told by your partner that you don't listen. Or maybe you're just feeling "stuck" and you're looking for someone to talk to, to help you come up with ways of feeling unstuck. Achieving goals takes effort and can require the ability to tolerate discomfort, and I can be here to support and empower you, as you take those steps towards greater well-being. I use evidence-based approaches and am trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, attuned eating, and taking a Health at Every Size approach. My approach is flexible. Whether you’re looking for short term therapy with “homework,” more supportive psychotherapy, or you’re not sure, I will talk with you about your goals and a plan for achieving them.

First session

In your first session, we'll discuss what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve from it. I draw from the treatment modalities that I'm trained in. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. I may offer "skills" from DBT, attuned eating strategies, or use ACT to help you identify your values and offer mindfulness based strategies.

Strengths

I have almost 10 years of clinical experience. I can be direct and solution-focused, and I use my curiosity to help challenge your way of thinking, while offering a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Client autonomy and empowering my clients to take charge of their lives and the problems that they sought therapy for, is important to me.

Ideal clients

I have experience working with adults with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, confidence/self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, medical issues, trauma, and alcohol-related issues. No problem is too small to talk to me about.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you identify and challenge thoughts that may be impacting how you feel and how you respond to situations.
