Hi! I’m a Texas Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) . I’ve been in the social work field for 10 years and have worked with just about every population. I offer online therapy to men and women age 18+. I utilize a variety of therapy techniques including CBT, Mindfulness, Prolonged Exposure, and ACT amongst others. I do offer Christian-based therapy if requested.
Therapy is hard work because we dig into the root of problems, little by little. I want you to feel comfortable opening up and I understand that may take time to build trust. Our first session we’ll go over brief introductions and then discuss what you’re wanting to get out of therapy, your past therapy experience (if any), and I’ll answer what questions you may have for me.
I’ve worked with many different clientele throughout my time in social work. I like to know your backstory, if you’re willing to share, so we can figure out what ties that may have as to what is going on today. Of course, we don’t have to dig into areas you’re not ready to go into, we’ll work from where you want to start.
Being fully transparent, the goal of therapy is to not need therapy forever! The goal is to learn skills to utilize so that in the future when issues arise, you are already prepared with how to handle them! Change can be hard, but you’re here which means you know change is needed in some capacity. Feeling anxious? Depressed? Out of control? Confused? Let’s work on that together and get you to a more comfortable place. Please note, what skills you learn in therapy, you’ll have to practice in your daily life to see change!
Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on recognizing how thoughts and behaviors are connected. It can be used with many different situations and clientele.
