I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board-Certified Diplomate with a longstanding passion for helping individuals move toward meaningful change. As an Army Veteran with a long career of service, I bring a deep understanding of resilience, transitions, and the unique challenges that can arise across life stages. I have experience working with clients facing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, insomnia, adjustment disorders, ADHD, relationship distress, and family conflict. My approach to therapy is straightforward and collaborative: I show up as authentic, empathetic, and engaged. I utilize evidence-based treatments to support the growth and healing you are seeking, while empowering you to identify your goals and move toward them at your own pace. I am trained in and regularly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (for depression, insomnia, and suicide prevention), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This list is not all-inclusive, as treatment is always tailored to the individual. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time outdoors—especially in the mountains or on the lake—and prioritizing quality time with my family.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting working relationship. We’ll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to gain from the process, and any concerns or questions you may have. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready to—this session moves at your pace. I’ll also gather some background information to better understand your experiences, current stressors, and strengths. Together, we’ll talk about your goals for therapy and what success might look like for you. This session is collaborative and conversational, focused on establishing rapport and ensuring you feel heard, respected, and supported. Before we end, we’ll review next steps, discuss how therapy may be structured moving forward, and address any logistical questions. The goal of the first session is not to “fix” everything, but to create a solid foundation for meaningful work together and ensure that therapy feels like a good fit for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my authenticity and collaborative style. I show up as a real, engaged human while grounding our work in evidence-based methods that are tailored to each client’s goals. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I partner with clients to help them better understand themselves, build practical skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change that fits their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work exclusively with adolescents and adults who are seeking thoughtful, goal-oriented support in navigating life’s challenges. I am especially well positioned to serve individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, insomnia, ADHD, adjustment difficulties, and stress related to life transitions. I also support clients facing relationship distress, family conflict, or difficulties with communication and emotional regulation. Clients who tend to do well in my practice are those who value an authentic, collaborative therapeutic relationship and are open to using evidence-based approaches to create meaningful change. You do not need to have everything figured out—many clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps. Together, we work to clarify goals, build insight, and develop practical skills that align with what matters most to you. I am particularly well suited to work with clients who want to better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, heal from past or ongoing trauma, and develop tools that support long-term growth rather than short-term relief. Whether your goal is symptom reduction, improved relationships, increased emotional resilience, or greater clarity and direction, therapy is tailored to meet you where you are and help you move forward at your own pace.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is utilized to help the client identify unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that influence emotions and behaviors. I work collaboratively with the client to challenge and reframe these thoughts while practicing healthier coping skills. Over time, CBT helps clients develop more balanced thinking patterns and increase effective behavioral responses.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is to support partners in improving communication, understanding patterns of interaction, and addressing sources of conflict. I facilitate a safe, neutral space to help each partner feel heard while guiding the couple toward healthier dynamics to strengthen the relationship by promoting mutual respect, emotional attunement, and collaborative problem-solving.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help the client identify and examine trauma-related beliefs that are keeping them “stuck” following a traumatic experience. Through structured discussion and targeted exercises, I support the client in challenging unhelpful thoughts and developing more balanced, adaptive perspectives. CPT is used to reduce trauma-related distress and promote recovery and empowerment.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize Motivational Interviewing by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment that explores the client’s values, goals, and ambivalence about change. I will use open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to strengthen the client’s own motivation and confidence. This approach helps clients identify meaningful reasons for change and supports sustainable, self-directed progress.
