Tabitha Kendrick

LCSW (she/her)15 years of experience

Hello, I’m Tabitha Kendrick, a Licensed Social Worker dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges with compassion and evidence based care. I utilize approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients build resilience, manage stress, and achieve meaningful change. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to reach your personal goals.

First session

In your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, your goals, and any important background information that can help guide our work together. This is also your opportunity to share what you hope to achieve and ask any questions about the process. Together, we’ll discuss what approaches might be most helpful for you and set a plan that feels comfortable and collaborative. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood from the very beginning.

Strengths

My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood, using evidence-based approaches like CBT and Motivational Interviewing to guide meaningful change, and helping individuals build resilience and practical coping skills. I’m skilled at fostering collaboration, empowering clients to identify their strengths, and tailoring strategies to meet each person’s unique needs and goals. What sets my approach apart is the combination of evidence-based methods with a deeply collaborative and client-centered style. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients not only understand the root of their challenges but also develop practical, actionable strategies for change. Clients often share that they feel truly heard and empowered in sessions, and they appreciate how therapy translates into real-life improvements—such as reduced anxiety and depression symptoms, greater confidence in decision-making, and stronger coping skills for managing stress and life transitions.

Ideal clients

I specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, workplace challenges, and major life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel stuck—aware that something needs to shift but unsure where to begin. Some appear high‑functioning on the outside yet feel exhausted, overwhelmed, depressed or disconnected internally. My clients often come to therapy wanting to: Find their voice in relationships or within their families Manage anxiety, low self-esteem, or social pressures Understand who they are outside of family roles, career expectations, or relationship identities Navigate major transitions such as divorce, career changes, parenting, or caregiving. I also have a strong passion for supporting older adults as they navigate the unique challenges that come with aging. This may include adjusting to retirement, coping with changes in health or mobility, redefining identity and purpose, managing grief or loss, or balancing independence with increasing support needs. Seniors often carry a lifetime of experiences, and I provide a space where those stories, strengths, and struggles are honored with respect and compassion. Whether you’re feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or uncertain about your next steps, I offer a collaborative and non‑judgmental space to explore what’s possible. Together, we focus on identifying your strengths, building resilience, improving mood, and developing practical tools that help you feel more balanced, empowered, and clear in your decision‑making.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I integrate CBT techniques to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and engage in positive behavioral changes. By combining evidence-based interventions with a client-centered approach, I empower individuals to build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and achieve sustainable wellbeing.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to foster a collaborative and non-judgmental therapeutic environment that empowers clients to explore and resolve ambivalence about change. By using reflective listening, affirmations, and open-ended questions, I help individuals strengthen their intrinsic motivation and develop actionable steps toward achieving their personal goals.
