Lisa Fowler
Hi, I'm Lisa. My pronouns are they/she. I am a psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting people in feeling more alive and embodied as themselves. My approach is grounded in liberation psychology and is guided by a deep commitment to body liberation, anti-racism, interrogating and dismantling white supremacy, and liberatory healing. My style is real, relational and collaborative and centers curiosity and presence. I believe therapy should meet you where you are, without pathologizing or trying to fix you.
First session
We’ll spend some time talking about what made you decide to reach out, what you’re hoping for out of our work together, and figuring out if we might be a fit.
Strengths
I’m am not a white coat - I am a full human who shows up authentically, with care and direct communication - centering strength and liberation and always with a lens towards decolonizing systems and identifying and dismantling racism and bias.
Treatment methods
Couples Counseling
I have over 20 years of experience working with couples/partners. I pull from a variety of techniques/styles including strengths based, liberation psychology, Gottman Method, EFT, and parts work - with the underlying goal of improving communication and building a shared pathway forward.
Gender-affirming therapy
I am a WPATH SOC8 certified provider and a WPATH mental health mentor with more than 20 years of experience in knowledge and affirming gender exploration as well as letter writing and advocacy within healthcare systems.
Relational
While I have experience in a pull from a wide variety of techniques, the bottom line in therapy often comes down to relational work. Showing up, together, real, in the beauty and muck of it all.
