diverse cultural backgrounds. My clinical foundation is deeply rooted in community mental health. I have extensive experience advocating for and walking alongside children, women, and families from different backgrounds. If you are motivated to bridge the gap between our sessions and your day-to-day life, we can work together to break old patterns, process deep-seated trauma, and build long-term psychological
First session
Starting new things and entering into a therapeutic space can feel intimidating. It takes a lot of courage and self determination to show up for your first session. The main goal for initial sessions is for the therapist and Client to get to know each other and provide a welcoming space where the Client can begin to share what brought them in. I hope that my Clients leave their first session feeling respected, honored and having.a sense of hope.
Strengths
I come to each session with no expectations in mind. I don't force an agenda; I let my clients guide the session. I have come to find that when you let a therapeutic session run freely, it provides good opportunities to step in, provide silence, or challenge narratives in a way that feels natural. I also make an active effort to present myself as a real person on the other side. The goal is to simply to walk alongside my clients and help lead them through their healing journey
Ideal clients
Personally, I believe there is no ideal Client but, it does make a difference if one is ready for change, participates in session, and will be willing to implement what is learned in every day life. As a therapist, I will bring up the difficult parts of someone's life, anxieties, fears, inconsistencies, habits, thought patterns and those could be challenging to discuss when someone is not ready to do so.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) especially in cases where you may be dealing with hardships completely beyond your control. In our therapy sessions, we will focus on allowing difficult thoughts, feelings, and urges to be present, without trying to fight them, run from them, or judge them. When life brings challenges that cannot be easily changed, our work shifts toward creating a compassionate space where you no longer have to battle your internal experiences. Together, we will honor your pain exactly as it is, helping you find psychological freedom and meaningful direction even in the midst of life's heavy storms.
Attachment-based
I integrate attachment-based therapy when a client is navigating complex family dynamics, whether from their past or in their current life. Together, we will work on identifying the intergenerational values, habits, and behaviors that have been woven into your family story. By bringing awareness to these patterns, you are able to reclaim your power and consciously dictate who you want to be, regardless of any passed-down traumas. Our sessions offer a nonjudgmental space to honor where you come from while giving you the freedom to choose your own path forward.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with clients who have developed deeply rooted, unhelpful core beliefs about themselves or the world. Together, we will examine how these learned beliefs quietly influence your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In our sessions, we won't force an agenda, but we will gently bring awareness to these patterns, providing natural opportunities to point out contradictions in old narratives. By rewriting these automatic beliefs, you can reclaim your personal power and intentionally choose how you want to move forward.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
When life feels overwhelming, our bodies often get stuck in a state of high alert. I use mindfulness techniques specifically designed to help you slow your nervous system down and become fully present in the moment. We will practice mindfulness techniques so that hopefully you can begin implementing them to your daily life and begin to feel more liberated in your existence.
