About me

Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and have been practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, family/relationship conflicts, low self-esteem, depression and more! I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In my initial consultation, I like to let the client know a couple of "house keeping" guidelines and what to expect going into their first session . During the initial session, I gain background information that will help set the stage one the client is ready to discuss their presenting problems.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am non-judgmental and I work at the client's pace, not mine. I use reflection so as to ensure that I'm hearing the client correctly. I am client-centered. I want to know about the client's family of origin and I like to get that information by asking, for example, "What was meal time like when growing up?" I also like to provide activities and coping mechanisms that the client can utilize when they are experiencing negative feelings.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients that are looking to gain self-confidence and who are looking to find ways to cope with the issues they are experiencing, whether it's anger, depression, anxiety or insecurities.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This type of treatment helps me to establish rapport with the client. I listen to the client's needs and therapy is set at the client's pace. I teach the client mindfulness while also being non-judgmental and providing acceptance of where the client is at in their life/journey.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

We will explore the benefits of Mindfulness Based Therapy and techniques on how to practice Mindfulness. This method has benefits that will help regulate anxiety and depression, focus and concentration and reduce rumination.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT has a strong educational component designed to manage intense emotions and enhance social relationships. It is nonjudgemental and emphasizes acceptance and positive change. There is some focus on breath work and meditation.
