I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Georgia who provides affirming, compassionate mental health care to adults ages 18 and up. I welcome people from all religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, neurodivergent individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Relationships with my clients are based on creating a safe, nurturing environment where clients can learn to deal with their issues without judgment, shame, or anxiety. At the heart of my work is a deep belief that everyone deserves to be heard, supported, and empowered—especially during life’s most overwhelming moments.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Therapy with me is a place to feel safe, gain clarity, and take meaningful steps toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. I draw on evidence-based practices such as CBT, ACT, and mindfulness to support clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, the effects of chronic health issues, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process grounded in trust, authenticity, and a deep respect for each person's lived experience so that clients can create more life-affirming and constructive lives.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Before going back to school full-time in my 40s to change careers, I worked for over 20 years in corporate America and overseas. I have lived and/or worked in over a dozen countries and am more familiar than most with different cultures. I earned my master’s degree in social work from The University of Georgia, my MBA from Duke University, and my bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in supporting adults of all ages who have become stuck in their thinking and want to improve but don't know how. They often feel overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed by their situation and don't know where to turn. I help them think about things differently and live more fully. My goal is to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space to be heard and to work with you to create the life you want. If you're finding that your usual ways of coping aren't working as well as they used to, we can work together to resolve your issues and live peacefully.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help my clients recognize their psychological responses, be open to their experiences and accept them, and create a meaningful life.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting helps clients process psychological trauma and other distress by maintaining specific eye positions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions by challenging and adjusting convictions and assumptions, and learn better adapted behavior by trying and training new behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Deb uses elements of DBT in her practice as appropriate to the client, to help clients reach their therapy goals.

Motivational Interviewing

Deb uses MI to help bring about wanted changes in behavior by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.
