Seounghee Lee
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I work to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I believe everyone brings unique strengths and life experiences to therapy. Together, we can explore challenges, build healthy coping skills, recognize your strengths, and work toward meaningful growth and a more fulfilling life.
First session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to understand what brings you to therapy. You’ll have space to share at a pace that feels comfortable to you. We’ll talk about your concerns, strengths, needs, and what you hope to gain from therapy, and begin identifying goals we can work toward together.
Strengths
I bring empathy, patience, and genuine curiosity to each session. I meet clients where they are and listen with openness and without judgment. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, creating a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves, express their thoughts and feelings, recognize their strengths, and develop practical skills that support their growth and emotional well-being.
Ideal clients
My ideal client may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure of themselves and is looking for a safe space to feel heard and understood. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults who want to better understand themselves, build healthier coping skills, strengthen their relationships, and recognize their own strengths and worth. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just a willingness to begin and explore what might help.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns, explore different ways of thinking, and develop practical coping skills to manage challenges. I tailor these strategies to each client’s needs, strengths, and goals to support meaningful and lasting change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT-informed strategies to help clients better understand and manage difficult emotions, cope with stressful situations, and improve their relationships. Depending on each client’s needs, we may practice mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication skills that can be applied to everyday challenges.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use play-based and therapeutic expressive art activities within a person-centered and humanistic approach to help clients express thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Through creative activities, I provide a safe and supportive space where clients can explore emotions, recognize their strengths, build coping skills, and develop greater self-understanding.
