***** ONLY ACCEPTING APPOINTMENTS BETWEEN 1:00PM-4:00PM AT THIS TIME. NO EVENINGS AVAILABLE.***** Welcome! My name is Olivia Lima, LMHC, CCTP. I am a Latinx Millennial Licensed Mental Health Therapist in Florida, and I am fluent in Spanish. Need help building self-esteem? I am your number one hype woman. Having conflict in an intimate relationship? I will come through with those communication tools with some therapy translation. Just think of me as your new therapy BFF! I can help you turn the sentence, "you're getting on my nerves!" into "I feel myself becoming more irritable toward you lately, and I want to make sure we discuss it, as our relationship is very important to me." History of trauma? You are 100% safe here. Difficulty managing anger? Let's discuss. People pleasing tendencies? I'm a recovering people pleaser and can help! You can trust that you are in an environment that is designed with your best interest in mind. My combination of professional and personal life experience(s) contribute to my compassion, my transparency and my trauma informed approach. I'm not a blank slate therapist.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will explore your history and your reasons for beginning therapy at this time. Collaboratively, we will develop a treatment plan to help meet your goals. Often times, our history can help us determine why certain patterns in our lives continue to repeat themselves; my goal is to help you safely explore and reprocess your trauma in a way that no longer feels threatening. I want to help you get out of fight or flight mode.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

"TMI" does not exist in my sessions. SPILL all of the TEA! (Feel free to bring photos and screenshots, I am here for ALL of it!). My goal is to meet you where you are in your journey by utilizing a warm, empathetic and caring approach. I have a good sense of humor and take a relaxed approach to sessions that helps clients feel more comfortable. I am also able to connect with clients on a deep, meaningful and intuitive level. I am culturally competent and able to successfully work with clients from all political and religious backgrounds. I am an open book, and my clients know where I stand in terms of my values & beliefs. I am passionate about my work and incredibly receptive to feedback. I am a safe and healthy person to challenge and to disagree with. I take my job to model healthy communication very seriously and love to create a space where clients are comfortable communicating their needs. I pride myself in creating an environment that feels safe for clients to show up as their most authentic selves.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

Being a trauma informed clinician comes with the responsibility of understanding the lasting impacts of complex trauma and/or PTSD, how it changes / alters brain chemistry, and how we can utilize inner child healing and self-compassion methods to more effectively regulate our emotions.

Attachment-based

In my practice, I utilize psycho-education related to attachment wounds to help deepen your understanding of yourself. How do YOU show up in your personal relationships? Do you have an anxious or avoidant attachment style? How does that impact your existing relationship dynamic? Figuring out how to understand your attachment wounds will aid in improving your relationships across the board.

Couples Counseling

With couples, the issue often is a discrepancy in attachment and/or communication styles. With my guidance, we will explore the underlying issues that are affecting the dynamic and re-discover conflict in a way that is healthy and meaningful.

Family Therapy

Having a strong understanding of each unique family dynamic and the roles each family member plays is crucial to develop stronger familial connections. My family sessions focus on increasing listening skills and the implementation of proper conflict resolution tools.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I utilize emotion focused techniques to strengthen empathy, understanding, communication and conflict resolution skills within my couples' therapy and family sessions. You will inevitably learn to listen with your heart instead of your ego.
