Hello, I'm Lauren Lowe. I hope this day is treating you with kindness. If you are considering therapy (whether individual, couples or family), you are likely noticing that your everyday life is being affected by something unresolved or undefined. Sometimes it's grief, other times relationship stress, past trauma or symptoms that you don't understand and can't get to go away. Continuing to live this way can be draining. I approach therapy and healing by addressing thoughts, emotions and behaviors/actions as all three interact continuously throughout our day. I specialize in helping you to identify the foundational things that continue to keep you hopeless, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, agitated or stuck and explore what needs to happen for this to change. I like to personalize therapy so that sessions are helpful for where you are in your process and what you need at the moment. I utilize relaxation, skills/self-support strategies, education, processing and asking clarifying questions to help you work through what is on your mind. You are the expert of your life, and I see myself as the tour guide, offering you routes and information to get to where you want to be. "The most courageous thing we will ever do is to bear humbly the mystery of our own reality." Richard Rohr

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we will get to know one another and talk about your reasons for seeking therapy at that time. We will often discuss any significant immediate stressors, life challenges and goals for successful completion.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, my strengths lie in listening well and putting together the puzzle pieces that make up your life and concerns. I empathize easily and this helps me to balance compassion with problem solving. I bring a breadth of knowledge and personal experience to some of the issues I treat. It's important that my client feels comfortable and completely at ease discussing anything without feeling self-conscious.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

-Women age 20+ reporting issues relating to life adjustment, trauma, late or undiagnosed ADHD, mood dysregulation, relationship issues, changing roles, identity, etc. -Generational trauma -Couples (including ADHD/Non-ADHD dynamics) -Families (Children over the age of 12)

My treatment methods

Integrative

Every person's experience and history is different. I have always felt it important to use treatment methods/philosophies that meet people where they are and how they process. I tend to use an overall person centered approach that is supportive, yet focused on your growth and development. If you are investing time and resources in therapy, you should anticipate life/relationship/situational change. Talk therapy, cognitive processing (CBT), ACT - Acceptance and Commitment, Attachment, Compassion-focus, Faith based, Somatic, Interpersonal, Grief, Humanistic, Narrative, Neuropsychological, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing (CPT) for trauma, Strengths-based, Psychoeducation, Polyvagal, Relational, Reality therapy, Trauma-Informed and Positive Psychology are all approaches I am trained/experienced in and use as indicated. You are the master of your ship, so approach and treatment must fit for you and your goals.
