I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a background in youth, adolescent, adult, couples, and family counseling. I have practiced for over ten years and have a master's degree in education (M.Ed.) in school counseling. I currently work with clients who want to gain a better approach to their lives while going through difficulties with transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, and/or life rediscoveries.
I use an integrated approach and do not believe in a one size fits all model, we are all uniquely different and because of this I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
My training, education, and experience in counseling have provided me with a strong background in individual, couples, and family therapy. The therapeutic approach is both interactive and collaborative, allowing, the client to have an individualized experience. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational issues, and stress management. Regardless of the situation I have always provided my clients with the highest quality of care and treatment, treating them with the utmost respect, integrity, and empathy. Encouraging my clients to move towards behavioral transformations without fear or apprehensions. As a result, my clients will gain a positive outlook and adopt new attitudes and positive reactions within their lives. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage; be proud of yourself for getting started!
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, addictions, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps clients identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, using techniques like psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral interventions. Sessions are goal-oriented and involve tools such as thought records, exposure exercises, and skill-building to address issues like anxiety and depression. Progress is tracked through measurable goals and standardized assessments, while therapy is tailored to each client’s needs.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-directed, future-oriented therapeutic approach that emphasizes identifying and building on a client’s strengths and resources. Instead of focusing on past problems, SFT helps clients envision their desired outcomes and develop practical steps to achieve them. Techniques include asking "miracle questions" (e.g., “What would your life look like if the problem were solved?”) and identifying exceptions (times when the problem is less severe or absent). The therapist collaborates with clients to recognize their successes and amplify effective strategies. SFT is brief, empowering, and ideal for fostering positive change in a short time frame.
Christian counseling integrates faith and psychological principles to provide guidance that aligns with Biblical values. It helps clients address emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges through a Christ-centered perspective, offering hope and healing rooted in faith. By incorporating prayer, Scripture, and spiritual practices, Christian counseling fosters personal growth and strengthens clients’ relationships with God. This approach is especially beneficial for individuals seeking to align their mental health journey with their spiritual beliefs.
Couples counseling is vital for improving communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering a deeper understanding between partners. It provides a safe space to address issues, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional connections. By working together with a counselor, couples can learn healthier interaction patterns and develop skills to navigate future challenges. This process enhances relationship satisfaction and promotes long-term partnership success.
Psychoeducation is crucial for empowering individuals with knowledge about their mental health conditions, enabling them to better understand and manage their symptoms. It helps reduce stigma and promotes a sense of control by providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies. Through education, clients and their families can make informed decisions and actively participate in the recovery process. Psychoeducation also fosters resilience by teaching practical skills for stress management, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. Ultimately, it strengthens the therapeutic alliance and improves treatment outcomes by aligning expectations and building trust.
