Christina Eggebeen
I am a licensed professional counselor dedicated to supporting adults who feel overwhelmed, dysregulated, or unsure how to put words to their experiences. Many clients come to therapy carrying emotions that feel confusing, heavy, or isolating, and my role is to offer a steady, compassionate presence as we make sense of what feels difficult. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can safely explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns without pressure or expectation. I believe you already hold many of the answers within yourself, and therapy becomes a collaborative process of uncovering clarity, strengthening insight, and reconnecting with what helps you feel grounded.
First session
Your safety and privacy are paramount. We will spend a few minutes checking in with regards to your welfare and your confidentiality. It is helpful for me to know what you are looking for in therapy. If you need a level of care beyond my training, I will follow ethical guidelines and refer you to the appropriate party. My clients tell me I am kind, professional and easy to talk to.
Strengths
I bring honesty, ethical practice, respect, and a warm, non‑judgmental presence to every session. My diverse background in school counseling, inpatient and residential care, crisis services, critical incident response, vocational rehabilitation, career counseling, and collaboration with law enforcement allows me to support clients through complex challenges and meaningful transitions.
Ideal clients
I am currently working with clients ages 18 and up. Clients come to me when struggling with life transitions, grief, traumatic experiences as well as with emotional maintenance. Clients often learn their presenting issue is only the first layer. I encourage clients to peel the layers back and be intentional about noticing what this process unveils. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and inclusive space for clients to explore at their pace.
Treatment methods
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness‑based and somatic therapy by helping clients slow down, notice what is happening within themselves, and build awareness of their emotional experience. We explore the stressors impacting them, assess their level of distress, and use grounding and distress‑tolerance skills to support steadiness. When helpful, I guide clients in reflecting on other times they’ve felt similarly and what they already understand about those experiences. These approaches encourage clients to stay present, observe their internal responses with curiosity rather than judgment, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves. This process deepens insight, strengthens emotional regulation, and supports meaningful therapeutic growth.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use the Internal Family Systems model by helping clients recognize the different “parts” of themselves that show up during moments of stress, conflict, or emotional overwhelm. Together, we explore the messages these parts are sending and the roles they’ve taken on. I guide clients in asking reflective questions such as: What part of you is speaking? What is this part trying to protect? What would you like to say in response? This process helps clients understand their internal system with more clarity and compassion, reduces internal conflict, and supports a more grounded, integrated sense of self.
