Greetings and thank you for considering me in your search for support along your journey for healthier and more fulfilling life experiences. My name is Jeremy Darden and I have been a licensed mental health therapist for nearly 15 years. I believe that therapy in its optimal form serves to empower and remind individuals that they have everything they need within them (the capacity to learn, grow, adapt, unlearn/deconstruct) and within their reach (the capacity to seek and ask for help; access resources; connect with others that can guide, support, and encourage). I look forward to working together

Thank you for viewing my profile. I am currently accepting new clients via telehealth. I like to make scheduling more conducive and less complex for my clients therefore, my scheduling is not rigid to only posted availability. I offer clients a wide range of availability with scheduling (to include evenings and weekends)....which can be arranged via email or phone consultation. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland. I am Trauma Certified, National Certified Counselor and board-certified member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. I earned my master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I believe the client is the expert in their situation and work with the client to assist them in reaching their maximal potential. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process. My therapeutic approach is diverse, eclectic, and curtailed to the individual not a “one size fits all”.

I have provided counseling & therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in various settings including schools, group homes, residential treatment facilities, in-office, in-home and virtually. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from The College of Wooster in 2001. In 2003, after working for 2 years at a non-profit in Washington, DC, I joined the staff of HB Woodlawn Secondary Program, in Arlington, VA, as a counseling assistant and college counselor for students in 6th – 12th grade. In 2006, I moved to Philadelphia, PA, and earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology & School Counseling from Rosemont College in 2009. During my two practicum experiences, I worked primarily with children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral and mental health issues. I was a guidance counselor at Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, where I provided counseling for students struggling with depression, anxiety, and school or family issues. I was also a therapist at St. Francis St. Joseph Homes for Children, where I provided group, family and individual counseling for homeless or displaced boys who often needed support for trauma and grief. Since 2009, I have provided therapy in both a Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) in Portsmouth, VA, and as an independent counselor providing in-office and in-home services in San Antonio, TX and Gambrills, MD. At the RTF, I was a co-leader of the Young Women’s Center, which specialized in intensive care for girls aged 12-18 who required treatment for mood disorders, depression, trauma, anxiety & PTSD. I provided psychiatric rehabilitation (PRP) services for individuals with severe and persistent mental health diagnosis. I was a Supervisor at a non-profit for a case management team for over 7 years. This is where I have extensive experience in working with individuals with anxiety, low self-esteem, poor boundaries and difficulties forming relationships. I was one of the main presenters for Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and used these methods and techniques in my everyday work and practice. I am an Approved LCPC Supervisor in Maryland. I have provided a number of Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors (LGPC) with the supervision hours they needed to fulfill their requirements to obtain their LCPC. I have special training in Perinatal Mood Disorders and Mental Health. This training is a focus on the well-being of mothers as a whole, while also paying specific attention to her mental health as she moves along the journey of motherhood from conception to the Fourth Trimester. I feel this group of both fathers and mothers are one of the most overlooked and under-supported group, during a time in their lives when they REALLY need it. Much attention is given to the mothers during pregnancy and during the times before giving birth, but a lot of that support and attention disappears and shifts to the baby once delivery happens.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who have been practicing for over 12 years. My passion is working with adults and guiding them in overcoming trauma and healing wounded child parts. This passion is due to my own healing journey as a child who was touched inappropriately, exposed to domestic violence in a military household where my father abused drugs, and later experienced the death of my then 3-year-old son . Through my own healing journey, I learned how to "manage" my symptoms after receiving CBT therapy and grief counseling but had never healed from my trauma or knew about a wounded child part until receiving my own EMDR counseling. Before healing, I experienced symptoms consisting of low self-esteem, mood instability, not feeling safe, trust issues, and the need to control everything which negatively impacted my relationships with others. The journey was difficult but successful, thanks to EMDR. Thankfully, your journey doesn't have to be difficult. EMDR and Brainspotting are two highly effective modalities in treating trauma by helping to heal wounded parts through the brain's own healing process. If you're tired of feeling that you're always being judged, feeling stuck and unable to move forward because “something” is holding you back, experiencing trust or relationship issues, not feeling as if you're good enough, or if you're waking up sad, angry, irritable, or depressed and not understanding why, you may have a wounded part that's ready to heal. If so, I would be honored for the opportunity to help the wounded part within you to recognize that they're safe, they can trust, and that they're good enough.

I am Ketty - licensed clinical therapist. Also a Black female and first generation American of Caribbean descent - if you know, you know. And I am here for all your stories because they deserve to be heard, and you deserve to be seen. In the last few years, I have had the opportunity to practice in diverse settings and at various levels of care, and I have found myself the most at home and energized supporting clients on their journey to self-discovery. I have had first hand experience with the challenges and added barriers that one may encounter simply existing as a person of color: at work, at school, and at home. From the generations of unresolved trauma, to the attachment ruptures and dysfunctional family dynamics to the endless systemic challenges, there needs to be a safe space for healing.  This is why this work is important: to break the harmful cycles, to make sure your pain is no longer overlooked or ignored simply because "you are strong".  Glow Up came to be from a passion of mine to educate, heal and empower others to embrace their whole life story. An opportunity to refine the values and boundaries that allow you to experience the beauty of relationships on your terms, and reconcile the painful experiences and devastating memories into intentional, purposeful and "whole" living.  Using a trauma-informed approach as well as attachment based and emotion focused interventions, we work together to identify your needs and your goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. I am committed to providing you with the space to heal and thrive, to make use of humor and compassion, and to remain authentic and present every step of the way.

Since I was a child, people have always felt safe to share their stories with me and I have honed that into a skill of providing the space for patients to be open and vulnerable in therapy. I love being a part of a patient's journey to healing, self-awareness, and growth. I am always grateful when patients do me the honor of permitting me to walk alongside them therapeutically. In my current practice, I use my passion for facilitating every patient's journey through life and emphasizing the need for an authentic connection between myself and the patient. I am a professor, mentor, coach, and clinician, and am keen to look at a person’s unique lived experience and how it intersects with the systematic nature of culture, systems, and historical factors. I have presented at conferences, conducted professional training events and community workshops, and have been interviewed for radio programs, podcasts, and publications.

I am a licensed professional counselor who is a Christian. I understand how important it is to have a Christian counselor. If this is something you want to integrate into your counseling process I am able to do this and can use the Bible and your relationship with God to help you with whatever struggles you have. Integrating God and your beliefs is not a requirement to have counseling, but it is something I can offer. You can be yourself without fear of judgment when working with me. I respect your faith and denominational differences. I don’t have an agenda nor am I preachy. I strive to assist clients with bouncing back from life experiences such as unhealthy relationships, trauma, identity/ spiritual issues and parenting. Although I offer Individual therapy, my primary way of helping clients is through group therapy. My small group therapy sessions provide support and encouragement for working on goals that address topics such as strategies for surviving trauma, healthy ways to manage anxiety and depression, tools for building self-esteem, and more. Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean you don't suffer from depression, anxiety, stress, etch…

I have been working with individuals, families and couples for over 25 years in Maryland. Over that time, I have experience on how to engage and team with clients to help them make meaningful progress in their lives. I use a trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral approach to the work. Trauma events (single events or long-time exposure) can affect how we think and behave. Understanding how trauma impacts us biologically as well as emotionally can help us I adhere to a strength-based perspective in treatment. Even when times are rough, it is important to remember that everyone does have strengths. A key purpose of going to therapy is to build confidence in yourself. Identifying and highlighting successes is important. Research shows that it is easier to implement change if you are building on existing strengths rather than developing brand new ones.
