Greetings! You are taking the first step to become a better version of you and that takes courage. I commend you for taking this first step and I am honored that you are considering me to help you with achieving this goal! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Maryland, D.C. , and Virginia. I received my Masters degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore with a specialization in mental health and sub specialization in substance use. I have been practicing for 10 years and have helped adults, adolescents, and children better manage anxiety, depression, relationships, stress, and trauma.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I like to call the first session our "getting to know session" because we will begin with brief introductions and then you can tell me what brings you to therapy, what you are hoping to get out of therapy, and how I can best assist you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been practicing for 10 years and have worked with those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues as well as those suffering from severe mental illness. The one thing that I have heard the most from clients and colleagues is that I bring a sense of calm to the session. This calmness helps me to create a space for clients to feel comfortable and heard.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been the primary treatment modality that I have used since I began providing individual therapy 10 years ago. CBT focuses on gaining insight into how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected . I use CBT to help clients identify negative thinking patterns and challenge those negative thinking patterns with more positive ways of thinking which in turn helps with improving your mood. Additionally, I am certified in CBT+ which is a treatment model for children/adolescents ages 5-18 experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help empower clients to achieve the change they desire by identifying their meaning, importance, and capacity for change. This is a collaborative process and the end goal is to create a plan of action .

Psychoeducation

I use psychoeducation to educate clients about symptoms they may experience, prevalence of their diagnosis, and how to treat their diagnosis. This helps clients better prepare for what they may experience while also normalizing their experience.

Positive Psychology

I use positive psychology to help clients focus on their current strengths in order to improve their mood and move forward with a more meaningful and happy life.
