I have worked with a variety of populations including children and adults that are in crisis, involved with the foster care system of Illinois (DCFS), struggle with self-esteem, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness. I’m known for cultivating self development, self care and determination; specializing in helping you connect with your fullest potential. As a team we will begin shifting your paradigm, developing a new attitude with new results, you desire.
“A moment of gratitude makes a difference in your attitude” is one of my favorite quotes. Your reality is what you nurture and focus on. Let’s get to work on what’s most important, you!

"Hello and Welcome! Let me start by introducing myself. I am Yvonne Jaquet, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor with 20 years of professional experience. Before reaching a “professional” status, I was a parent, and therapist to families with children from 0 to 18yr. of age. My question for you is..."What bring you here today?" Do you know or is it still unclear. Whatever it is, you are on the right track, I would even save "brave." I know therapy can be intimidating, but know I will provide you the time to figure out what is most important in this part of your journey. You have the space to relax, feel safe and heard in our sessions, this is your time. Some of my specialties include areas in mental health such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. I also work with clients who are having difficulty with parenting, challenging relationships, anger management, addictive/drug abuse behaviors and life transitions. By using a variety of techniques we will work together and find which one fits your situation. I like to encourage knowledge on the brain and how it affects each and everything you do, think about and your behaviors. By reframing your thoughts and challenging your core beliefs we can create the outcome you are seeking. Each person comes with different experiences, perspectives, opinions and challenges but together we will find the "You" you are looking for. I look forward to meeting you soon and be a part of your journey.

Do you feel overwhelmed by day-to-day living? Is there something weighing heavily on your mind that is affecting your ability to function as well as you want to? Being able to talk about those feelings with someone can be a huge relief. I believe that establishing a good relationship between the therapist and the client is critical to the healing process. Using a non-judgmental approach, I work with my clients to explore and identify what is the root cause of the distress and together, we set goals for solutions to managing or overcoming the source of the issue.
I have been fortunate to gain 27 years of professional experience in many settings with a variety of different people. I did individual, group and family therapy for teens that were involved in the juvenile justice system. I worked as a school social worker, school administrator, autism consultant, behavior coach, public speaker and parent trainer. I am also a parent myself who can draw from many of my own personal experiences. My professional development has been expansive and often depends on the needs of my position and my clients.
I feel it is important to meet you where you are at and listen to your story. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help. You have taken the first step in identifying that something doesn't feel right. I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based strategies to overcome the things that are holding you back from a peaceful and joyful life. I am ready when you are!

“An Arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back, it means that it is going to launch you into something great.” Life has its way of pulling us backward, but I believe with positive support, healthy coping skills, and processing through things that are dragging you back; you can learn to thrive and launch yourself into greater things.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Missouri and also licensed in Illinois and Massachusetts. I received my Master's from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have worked with clients of all ages and enjoy the chance to help you make positive changes to live your best life! I have worked in the mental health field for over ten years. Throughout my time working in mental health I have worked with clients with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance and alcohol use disorders.
My greatest skill as a therapist is being able to work with clients and help them feel accepted, heard, and understood. I have been trained in many therapy modalities and use these skills to help clients learn coping skills to better manage and cope with daily stress and symptoms they have previously suffered from. I believe change is possible.
Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, I teach clients mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. This specific therapy modality was specifically created to help people diagnosed with personality disorders, but I have also found these skills effective in treating a range of other symptoms including anger, depression, anxiety, substance use, mood disorders, self-harming behaviors, trauma responses, and eating disorders. I integrate DBT skills into my client's treatment based on their needs. By learning these helpful and healthy coping skills I have witnessed my clients learn to not only manage their lives better but thrive in life.

Hi, I'm Myrna.
Do you sometimes feel that you don't fit in or that others are taking advantage of your kindness? Do you feel that others undervalue you and your contributions and that the goal post you have been assigned by others to reach keeps getting moved further away from you?
I help abuse victims and survivors to appreciate themselves, their goals, their achievements, and their own individual beauty. Together we can work to help you to separate your individual goals and aspirations from those that you may have adapted in order to please others.
Whether it is self-acknowledged engrained attitudes and beliefs acquired from parental, educational, religious, or social conditioning that has caused you to undervalue yourself and value other's opinions of you above your own self-assessment or whether the cause is unknown, I can help you.
We will use a solutions-focused approach that utilizes practical and proven techniques that address both your emotional, mental, and physical needs. I incorporate bible verses, history, and personality assessments to assist you in seeing your place in the world and recognizing yourself as a valuable individual.
In our sessions together, you will be met with respect and appreciation. I look forward to working with you.

I believe everyone has the narrative to their own story and the answer they seek is within; sometimes it just needs a little compassionate digging. Because therapy isn't a life time based resource, I believe in empowering individuals to discover their own inner resource pool and teach new coping techniques to continue to build resilience and self compassion. My approach is race informed, trauma informed, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. The systems built around us exacerbate the amount of trauma we experience and further damage our capacity for recovery. Sometimes the hardest part is recognizing you have taken yourself to a point where guidance may be the next best option, however it is important for that guidance isn't in favor of dominant groups.
I specialize in providing trauma based therapeutic interventions, while focusing on the somatic experiences of where trauma is stored/harbored in our bodies to develop tools for regulation and healing. I believe the key ingredient is building a therapeutic relationship filled with trust, safety and compassion, as well as accountability and movement forward. I am certified in TF-CBT as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher, and regularly utilize these modalities in combination with other psychodynamic and skill based approaches.
When we engage in trauma recovery work, we cannot do it alone. Thanks for trusting me to accompany you in your journey to healing and witnessing you living a better life.

It's hard to see your positive attributes or have motivation when you are experiencing trials and tribulations with life. Remember…We are never alone. Over the past 22 years as a CTRS-CADC-LCPC I have witnessed remarkable changes from working with adolescents to adults stating "I never thought I could do this" to achieve quality of living. I take pride in partnering with people to create a safe space to discover your hidden unique strengths and talents, which may have been masked due to unhealthy patterns in coping style or interpersonal relationships.
I integrate a number of research-based, complementary theoretical methods into treatment, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, as well as other healthy life skills gleaned through Buddhist psychology and other disciplines to assist in healing the mind, body, and spirit.

Most mental health symptoms can be traced back to trauma; it’s not what's wrong with you, but what has happened to you. The effects of trauma can last for months, years, or a lifetime. When there is trauma, negative beliefs are created, inhibiting our ability to function fully, which affects the way we view ourselves, others, and the world we live in. We may feel that if we could just "push through" or bury our symptoms and memories, that is enough, until it isn't.
My practice philosophy is that we all have inherent worth and value, and possess the ability to heal. Therapy allows us to identify the negative beliefs that were created from traumatic experiences, and transform them so that our inner and outer experiences change in the ways that we desire. It all starts within.
Reaching out for help with life’s challenges is one of the most important things one can do for their long-term health and well-being. I walk with you, never judging, and always supporting you with your goals.

The other majority of my clients are clients who are seeking to address their emotional, physical, and spiritual health in therapy. I also service adults who are experiencing Work Burnout. Work burnout is real and causes significant distress in one's life!

In my experience as a counselor, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals in various settings. I have worked with children and adults in the community, residential, hospital, and educational settings. In each environment I have witnessed the marvel of human potential firsthand. As a clinician I approach people and the work that I do from the belief that people have the innate ability to grow and heal on their own. My personal life experience and my practice have fostered this belief, recognizing that the process may require or be made more manageable with some assistance or a guide, in the form of counseling.
Through my experiences I have witnessed the benefits of the human components that aid in the healing process of psychological symptoms that create difficulty in moving toward fulfillment and full integration of the human experience in the lives of many. The therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard are components that for me represent the core of therapy. These components create an experience in which someone can safely explore themselves, their experiences, the world around them, and identify solutions to ailments and the "true self" that is often altered by the world around us.
