About me

Whether you're adjusting through a transition in life, managing anxiety, or simply feeling overwhelmed without knowing why, you don't have to carry it alone. I’m Jonnelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and Florida with 12 years of experience in supporting people through complex transitions, immigration challenges, anxiety, and depression. I practice holistic, culturally responsive therapy—caring for the whole person across mind, body, and soul. Using CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and somatic-informed practices, we’ll work together at your rhythm to build clarity, resilience, and a sense of genuine fulfillment.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is all about setting a comfortable pace. You share only what you’re ready to, in a non-judgmental and supportive space. We will discuss what brings you in, your past experiences with support, and your goals for therapy. You'll leave with a clear sense of how we can work together so you can decide if this space feels right for you. No pressure, no expectations, just a space to begin.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and authenticity. Throughout my career, working with diverse individuals across various clinical settings has deepened my understanding of how to support people through life's most complex challenges. I honor that every person’s path is unique, and I consider it a true privilege to walk alongside you on your healing journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with individuals who are ready to process stress, navigate life transitions, or work through anxiety and relationship challenges in a safe, culturally supportive environment. If you want to understand yourself on a deeper level, strengthen your coping skills, and build a more balanced life, we will be a great match. Together, we’ll use practical tools and a compassionate, person-centered approach to help you gain clarity, heal, and thrive.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

We will work to manage intense emotions, build healthy relationships, and navigate distress effectively by focusing on four core skill areas: mindfulness (staying present in the moment), distress tolerance (coping with painful feelings without acting impulsively), emotion regulation (understanding and balancing mood swings), and interpersonal effectiveness (setting firm boundaries while communicating clearly).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will work to understand the strong connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In therapy sessions, a therapist guides clients to identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns (cognitive distortions) that contribute to distress or anxiety. Together, they work to reframe these thoughts into more balanced, realistic perspectives and practice practical behavioral strategies to change unhelpful habits. By focusing on present-day challenges, CBT equips clients with actionable skills to manage stress, improve mood, and navigate difficult situations effectively.

Mind-body approach

We will integrate techniques like breathwork, body scanning, grounding exercises, and mindfulness to help you calm your nervous system, process challenging emotions, and foster deep, holistic healing across both mind and body.

Somatic

We will incorporate grounding exercises, gentle movement, breathwork, and tracking physical responses to help release stored stress and regulate the nervous system. By connecting bodily awareness with cognitive insight, somatic therapy helps you feel more centered, emotionally regulated, and connected to yourself.
