LCSW, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
I have 5 years experience working with a diverse range of individuals from all walks of life. I've worked in-person and online in community mental health, outpatient, medical, and private practice settings. I work to create a supportive space to help clients explore struggles with anxiety, disconnection, perfectionism, shame, addiction, vulnerability, self-harm, and trauma. My work with individuals centers on self-examination, cultivating present awareness, resourcing, and exploring interpersonal dynamics. My approach is psychodynamic and about creating a therapeutic relationship with my clients to encourage collaborative nature of therapy, problem solving and nurture self-awareness. I believe together we can bring stability and thoughtfully achieve your goals.
I'll answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process, and how I typically work with clients. I'll ask you about yourself, what your current hopes are for therapy, what challenges you want to work through, and about any previous therapeutic experiences (what you liked and didn't like).
I'm motivated to nurture transformation and growth with those who I work with. In my past roles, I have worked long term with my clients through many different seasons of their lives and provided a stable relationship as they grow.
I work with adult individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds, including first and second generation immigrants, heterosexual and LGBTQIA+ individuals, those exploring/questioning their sexuality. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, disconnection, perfectionism, shame, self-esteem, vulnerability, self-harm, and trauma. I also specialize in working with individuals struggling with Substance Use challenges and Personality Disorders.
I want to create a long term partnership with you with your goals centered in the therapeutic relationship. I believe change takes time so I want to create a space where you can explore your emotions, goals, and challenges without judgement or inference.
I believe therapy is about creating a therapeutic relationship with my clients to encourage collaborative nature of therapy, problem solving and nurture self-awareness.
I used CBT as a tool to support individuals with separating their Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviors in order to recognize the influence they have on each other.
I used Motivation Interviewing language and questioning as a way to center therapy in curiosity and kindness. Change is a long term goal and I find MI to be a useful tool to support individuals with exploring change.
I used DBT with individuals struggling with high levels of distress and emotional instability. I will provide psychoeducation on skills to cope with stress, regulate emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and develop mindfulness.
