Being vulnerable and seeking support when needed is a sign of strength. Together in treatment, we can continue to build on the strength to help guide you towards creating a life worth living. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialization in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and training in different therapeutic modalities. I have had the experience and the privilege of working with children, families, and adults in all stages of life in both outpatient and inpatient settings who are having mental health challenges with everyday stressors, life/stage transitions, mental illness, and terminal illness . In addition, my work as therapist is rooted on a cultural, person-in-environment lens and the right to self-determination. Let us work together on your healing journey and creating a life worth living.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will explore and identify your current mental health difficulties and your mental health goals-where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. We will discuss treatment options to help guide you towards reaching your identified goals. You will leave the session with an understanding of treatment, structure of sessions, and will be able to provide any feedback.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a Mental Health Clinician, I take pride in providing my clients a safe and non-judgmental space to feel and label the feelings that are causing distress in order to heal from the suppression and avoidance of feelings. Sometimes we forgot how strong we are and that we have the strength to overcome life adversities. You can and you will be able to heal from the distress weighing you down and let go of the distressing feelings/thoughts. One step a time.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

At times, it could be difficult to be aware of how much influence our thoughts have and how these thoughts drive our feelings and behaviors. In CBT treatment, we learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge thought patterns to be more realistic thoughts, and establish control over unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
