New to Grow
I prioritize and deeply value the therapeutic relationship in my work as I believe a relational approach works best to achieve positive, long-term change. Additionally, I believe in mindfulness based approaches and somatic experiencing for a deeper understanding of the mind body connection and how we physically carry feelings. I often bring systemic concerns into the therapy space as our broader society impacts our individual well-being.
The first session covers a lot of ground and my hope is to never dismiss any concerns but to learn as much as I can about you and your presenting concerns, goals for treatment, and expectations for therapy.
I am very relational and have a natural ability to connect with others. I have vast experience working with acute mental health concerns as a county crisis worker which allows me to remain calm and composed in times of crisis or instability. I believe in being genuine with my clients rather than a "blank slate" type of therapist.
I have a lot of experience working with survivors of abuse, complex trauma, traumatic loss, anxiety, stage of life concerns, relationship concerns, identity concerns, self-injury, and suicidal ideation. I prefer to works with adults as this is the population I have most experience with. I have worked with people from all over the world and this has led to me valuing diverse experiences in my caseload.
