About me

Hi! I am a trauma-informed, relational therapist who shows up as my genuine self in therapy. I practice and believe in the benefits of mindfulness for nervous system regulation, emotion regulation, and as a resistance to capitalist culture. I strongly believe being a human being with my clients goes much further than any textbook intervention or approach. I also strongly believe in the benefits of laughter.- especially laughing at ourselves. Reach out if you'd like to work together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session covers a lot of ground and my hope is to never dismiss any concerns but to learn as much as I can about you and your presenting concerns, goals for treatment, and expectations for therapy. Mostly, I want to get to know you! You are also welcome to ask me any questions that make you feel more comfortable.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am very relational and have a natural ability to connect with others. I have vast experience working with acute mental health concerns as a county crisis worker which allows me to remain calm and composed in times of crisis or instability. I believe in being genuine with my clients rather than a "blank slate" type of therapist.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a lot of experience working with survivors of abuse, complex trauma, traumatic loss, anxiety, stage of life concerns, relationship concerns, identity concerns, self-injury, and suicidal ideation. I prefer to works with adults as this is the population I have most experience with. I have worked with people from all over the world and this has led to me valuing diverse experiences in my caseload.

My treatment methods

Relational

I show up as my genuine self and value the therapeutic relationship as it supports long-term, sustainable change

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I want my clients to learn what their emotions are, how they feel, and how to communicate them to themselves and others as this increases overall emotional wellness and decreases emotional distress

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness helps us get to know ourselves, our emotions, and calm our overall being.

Somatic

If the client is open, I often offer guided meditations or breath work if the client is highly stressed or appearing anxious. I also encourage client's to pay more attention to the mind-body connection

She was brilliant, What a way to humanize the therapeutic process and allow me the recipient to share and exchange my thoughts and feel safe and confident that my jokes were welcome and that we pushed through trauma by reminding ourselves that life is nuanced and avoided cynical despair the entire session. Thank heavens for therapist who get that listening and advising is a delicate art and getting to know each other's wounds helps us grow into stronger humans.
