I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker with over 13 years experience in both the private and public sector. Beginning your healing process and the journey can often feel quite fearful yet one of the most courageous steps in your life thus far. Building a comfortable environment and encouraging emotional safety allows my clients to work toward achieving their goals. I assist individuals struggling with substance use and clinical concerns, including grief, mood disorders, postpartum, and adjustment disorders. If you're experiencing changes in your mood, struggling with substance use, or facing challenges in your relationships, you're not alone.
In the first session, clients can expect for me to conduct a psychosocial evaluation to gather information about the client’s background, relationships, mental health and medical history, and current stressors to guide treatment planning and build rapport. We will also begin goal setting to explore both short and long term goals you hope to achieve by coming to therapy.
My greatest strength as a provider is my unconditional positive regard, patience during this rapport building and healing time, and nonjudgemental stance which has assisted in the therapeutic process with clients.
I’m here to support you in navigating these complex issues and helping you find a path to healing and growth. If you’re dealing with mood disorders like depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder, I understand how exhausting and overwhelming those feelings can be. Together, we can work on identifying triggers, understanding the root causes, and creating a plan to manage emotions more effectively. Whether it's learning coping strategies, building healthier thought patterns, or seeking appropriate treatment, I’ll help you gain the tools to regain balance and find peace.
CBT assists clients with identifying negative thoughts, challenge their accuracy, and replace them with balanced thinking. They guide behavior changes through practical exercises to break unhelpful patterns and improve emotional well-being.
Motivational interviewing permits me to ask open-ended questions, affirming strengths, reflecting the client’s thoughts, and summarizing to enhance motivation and guide them toward their own reasons for change. This is essential in the beginning of the therapeutic relationship as both the therapist and the client are building rapport and trust.
I foster safety, building trust, offering choice, and validating the client's experience—ensuring the client feels seen, heard, and empowered without re-traumatization.
I will assist the client identify goals, explore past successes, and focus on small, achievable steps toward solutions—rather than analyzing problems—by asking future-oriented and strengths-based questions.
