Welcome. I'm Jessica. Would you like to leap toward summer adventures? Do you want to shed those nagging problems that sap your energy and creativity? Are you up for beginning a new life journey? Remember that we all struggle from time to time. Warm, professional counseling can help you boost your mood, tackle personal problems, conquer bad habits, improve relationships, enhance self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and cope with difficult situations. We will start our journey together by setting small-step goals that yield noticeable results. As you increase your stride, you will navigate around old roadblocks and discover new pathways for coping. Along the way, you will collect fun tips to ease your stress, manage your time, and nourish your whole self. To quote J.R.R. Tolkien, "If you don't get started, you'll never be done."

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I like to get to know you by listening attentively to the issues you bring into counseling. By the end of that session, we will set 2-3 goals. If you're up for homework, we can design some interesting assignments that will keep you on the path to success. With persistence, regular session attendance, and reasonable effort, you will notice improvements in your life within 8-12 sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize evidence-based interventions like cognitive behavioral therapy, the internal family systems model, trauma-informed interventions, grief work, career counseling, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic theory. However, practical tools like improving mood with nutrition, engaging in spiritual practice, easing stress with laughter yoga, and utilizing creativity have been big favorites with many of my clients.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Creativity is my strength. I like to brainstorm options for solutions, think outside the couch, and find new ways to tackle old problems. Check out my website at https://easywaystoeasestress.com to learn 5-minute stress busters, easing stress by soothing your senses, guided imagery to relax, and healthy habits to ease stress. My blog, "Pet Ways to Ease Stress" features prominent members of the Pet Community who share tips on easing stress with a woof of humor, a purr of insight, a chirp of wisdom, or a tail of fun.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I especially like working with clients who practice some form of spirituality (Christian and non-Christian).
