Desiree Trippler
I have been in the field for over 13 years. I worked with veterans, domestic violence, substance use, and families. I am a mom, a wife, and just human. I am very empathetic but blunt in my practice. In session, sessions feel like a conversation.
Progress over perfection. Many years of experience with trauma, adjustment, and teach those how to thrive.
I am very open in what you're needs are.
First session
First session is always anxiety filled, the first part is paperwork and getting up know you and your needs. My clients usually feel hopeful after the session. If you do not feel I am a good fit for you, no problem. I try to reduce the stress and tension in the first session.
Strengths
I am very blunt, straight forward, and no psychobabble. I have a lot of life experience with grief, relationships, employment, and communications. I use various modalities. Each person's needs are different and each treatment is different.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is open for change. Change does not happen over night, it is a process. I like to focus on realistic goals such as understanding oneself, communication, coping skills, and so much more. I was a client that can be vulnerable but I teach the skills to set boundaries even with me. I am an open book and I would love for clients to be as well.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I work on the automatic negative thoughts, emotions, and actions. I utilize cbt to reduce our automatic response to build insight, security, and safety for one self. Safety can be confidence, boundaries, and advocacy.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Act is usual near the end of treatment. How do we accept things we can't control: people, places, and events.
