Hi Im Christina, I truly believe in building a trusting relationship that leads to the empowerment and growth of the client. As a mother of three and a lover of nature, i get that life is not always what we want or expect it to be, there are times when one's path is unclear and finding one's way becomes quite difficult. If you keep on doing what you've always done, you will keep on getting what you have always gotten. If you are not living your best life it is time to make a commitment to yourself and dedicate the time and energy to increase the quality of your life. I understand how life can sometimes overwhelm us. Whether you’ve just experienced a loss, a major change in your life, or you’ve been living with this sense of struggle for years, I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which positive change can occur, and can help you find your way. Making yourself a priority is absolutely a necessity. I have a bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Georgia.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a warm and supportive environment where you will be treated with respect and empathy. The initial meeting is primarily focused on getting to know you and understanding your unique concerns and goals. We will have a brief discussion about the counseling process, including confidentiality and what to expect in our work together. We will talk about your current challenges, background, significant events, and experiences that may be influencing your feelings or behavior. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques tailored to your individual needs. This may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness practices, solution focused or other methods suited to your situation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work to utilize my clients strengths to help them achieve their goals.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

You are the expert of your own life, but sometimes the yarn ball can get tangled up, I am here to help guide you through untangling the yarn ball while meeting you where you are at in your needs. Together we will complete this journey, you are never alone. Person-centered therapy employs a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in sessions, in the process, and then they are able to discover their own solutions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights, and ultimately, build resilience for long-term well-being. In our sessions, we will work together to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to distress or difficulties. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or other challenges, CBT offers a structured and evidence-based framework to address these issues. If you're ready to take steps towards a more fulfilling and balanced life, I'm here to support you on your journey. Let's work together to create positive changes and enhance your overall quality of life.
