18 years of experience

Hi! I'm an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) with a undergraduate degree in Social Work from Florida State University and a Graduate Master's Degree in clinical Social Work from Barry University. I have been in practice for 18 years. I received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida State University in 2003 and a master’s degree in social work from Barry University in 2005. Upon graduation, I worked with at-risk youth, providing family therapy to clients who were facing court-ordered treatment. I used the functional family therapy (FFT) treatment model while working with adolescents, families, and those with substance abuse or addiction. I then transitioned to the inpatient hospital setting to provide intensive grief counseling to clients and their families. It has always been my passion to work with the geriatric population; this is a passion that was present early on in my social work studies. It gave me the opportunity to help an often-forgotten population work through their most difficult transitions in life. My work remained in the inpatient hospital setting until 2016, when I made the decision to start my own private practice and opened PalmCoast Therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. My intake process is an initial quick phone call to ensure my services are a good fit for the client. After that, we will schedule a session and there are a few standard intake forms to complete. I don't have one specific type of client I prefer working with; I enjoy working with all types of clients, provided that it's a good fit

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a multitude of clients struggles over the past 18 years, I've developed a tried-and true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with a variety of ages and specialize in clients that are going through difficult times in their lives and looking for help and assistance in navigating through those times and transitions into a healthy and more positive space.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions. This is one of my preferred approaches to treatment in that it allows me to truly meet the client where they are at and find solutions to what they are looking to work through.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy with the focus on efforts to treat personality disorders and interpersonal conflicts. Evidence suggests that DBT can be useful in treatment and changing unhealthy behavioral patterns that the client is looking to break free from.

Grief Therapy

Grief counseling is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help people cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. If you have experienced a loss or major life change we will work through the stages of grieving together to better understand the impact of what you may be going through and to implement healthy coping skills and strategies.
