Hello! My name is Jami, and I am a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Therapist. I practice in both Michigan and Florida. I have over seven years of experience supporting individuals as they build healthier coping skills and work towards creating meaningful change in their lives. In my spare time, I practice yoga and paint with watercolors, and these practices have helped me further develop a capacity to go with the flow.
During our first appointment, I will work on getting a basic history and using clinical screeners to help determine our best course of action in developing your treatment plan. I want to get to know you and your treatment goals so that I can help you let go of painful habits that are no longer working for you.
I understand the pain that can come from feeling out of control in your life, and my goal is to help you be in charge of yourself again. I bring a Mindful approach to sessions to meet you where you are and give you space to feel, while looking for spaces to create change. I bring a flexibility to our sessions because I know that life is not this or that, it is both-and.

Ultimately, I respect that each person is the expert in their own life and I will provide the roadmap of skills to use to help you work towards your goals. Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to you develop tools to help you regulate your emotions more effectively, tolerate distressing problems, and improve communication tools in your relationships.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I use ERP to help with Anxiety and OCD to develop a plan to gently expose you to the sources of your fear. We will face them together and help you learn how to tolerate your anxiety and overcome the sources of it.
